Well done G Mac

That's him done now, he can relax and enjoy his golf. Winning a major is the benchmark for a successful career these days without one you are judged harshly by the golfing media as a nearly man which is sad. Well done G'mac lets hope there are many more to come.

Any coastal hard running windy courses will suit him best.
Don't think he'll ever win at Augusta or inland US Major venues but seaside golf like our Open or occassional west coast US Opens he could again do well at.

It was fantastic to watch such a non standard swing stand up to the pressure when all the 'perfect' swings fell apart.

It was great to see Havret not quite understanding what he had achieved.

It was great to see the positives that Mickleson took from the tournament, and to still see him smiling through adversity.

And then we saw Tiger growling at the interviewer at the end of a difficult round for him. He wasn't exactly rude, but he definitely wasn't gracious. It was a much better performance than the Masters, why not look at the positives?

It's funny how that one moment took just a smidge off the enjoyment for me. I really want Tiger to wake up and smell the roses now. He's had the tough stuff, he's on the road to recovery, he's still the most talented guy out there. I'm sure they have waitresses at Pebble Beach.

Like I say, count the positives.

Brilliant, well done GMac, stayed up to watch it and glad I did (had a kip in the afternoon).
Did anyone else see Lee Westwood's tee shot on the 7th, one idiot shouted "It's in the hole" and the mic's picked Westy up saying "Trust me, it's not." priceless.

Except for one lone Yank miles at the back who will without a doubt shout "In the hole" on the tee at any par 5. Daft as brushes the lot of 'em.

Great to see another Irishman win a Major....

Hate to be pedantic, but GMAC is NOT Irish! He is Northern Irish, and yes there is a major difference!

Congrats Graeme, PortRush is buzzing!!

Well, Im scottish, and sure as hell hate it when foreigners say youre english!!

Im sure if any users are from NI then theyll agree!

I'm a Norn Irish man living in England, you can guess how often I have to correct people calling me Irish! Obviously, many people from NI do consider themselves Irish, and trying to explain it all over here is near impossible.

"But being from the North of Ireland is the same as being from the North of Englan, isn't it?"

:)

my brothers wife is norn irish, and hates it! im pretty sure gmac is a proud ulsterman, and would therefore consider himself northern irish!

Just to clarify my opening post. To me anyone from the Island of Ireland is Irish. There is no issue of catholic/prodestant. Just a simple statement.

Maybe I should have put "Northern" in front of it.....

To really confuse some folk here I am also from Ulster but from the Republic of Ireland. Living in Scotland now that is also difficult to explain.

In a nutshell. 32 counties in the island of Ireland
9 counties in the province of Ulster
6 of the 9 counties are in Northern Ireland
3 of the 9 Ulster counties are in the Republic, Monaghan, Cavan and Donegal.

As a Monaghan man myself I am also a proud Ulster man and a proud Republic of Ireland man.

sorry to go on but I'd like to point out that a third of Ulster is in The Republic.

Again to make clear this is not a political statement, just clarifying some geographical ignorance.

So he's a Northern Irish, Irish, Ulsterman Brit then? :D ;)

Thats close enough a nutshell for me. :)

The sooner a mainland british winner steps up to the plate the better. The way things are going Big Monty will win a major before any of the other English lads. ;)

Whats the odds on a Welsh and Scottish major winner before an English one?

Its all great for the Europeans and the Ryder cup.
