Week away.....any recommendations?

Hi Guys

After a hectic last year or so me and the wife have a chance to get away for a week together, with no kids:thup:

Not til near end of September but looking for some recommendations for somewhere not too busy with good weather.

Dont want too long a flight and not overly fussed about golf as probably wont play when away but has to be nice hotel as we not planning on doing too much other than chilling out.

Any of you guys recommend somewhere??

Plenty long enough mate, We had a fantastic time visiting Barcelona, Sicily, Sardinia, Toulon, nice and relaxing as well !!!!

In all seriousness what about a week on fuertaventura. Should be roasty and will be fairly quite as well can. Stayed at the Elba Sara (I think) lovely hotel little bit out of town but fairly close to a couple of courses

Had a wee quick look there mate, looks nice and neither of us have been to Fuertaventura before

You must be trying to get me in bother though recommending a hotel with a course would be rude not to play it though wouldnt it

Only thing about it which never bothered me was it was kinda under the approach to the airport but the flights stop between 10pm and 6am I think. We went half board anf the grub was really good. I would go back in a heartbeat, but be warned they didn't let you into the restaurant in shorts

Just back from Seville,great city,maybe not for a week but could combine like the lass has with Nerja.

Got talking to a Sevillian Barman and it appears the Seville calculator was indeed knackered.....................he claims 300k of us where there!!

Went to Madeira last year and stayed in the Regency Palace Hotel, which was quite relaxing. Google it.

If you fancy the Canary Isles. Hotel Las Margueritas , Gran Canaria,in Playa Del Ingles is really nice and the food was superb - and no shorts in the restaurant!

You need to look at The Regency Palace 5 Star Hotel, the others are not as good.

We stayed at the Savoy Gardens Hotel. Perfect if it's just the two of you, quiet, no discos or anything, friendly staff, immaculate rooms and very good food.

Seville is beautiful, madrid is great (better than Barcelona IMHO). Venice, Florence or do you prefer beach type hols. Prague is great, also.

Have a look at Villa Pia in Lippiano, umbria, Italy. It was very friendly we went a while ago now, but recommendations and current reviews remain good. A good base for exploring Florence, Pisa, Sienna and Assissi. Expect to put on about a pound a day...
