Afternoon All !

Couple of questions - just had a custom fit and my nice new shiny Titleist AP1s have already arrived - 6 day turnaround at The Belfry so well pleased with that.

I went with midsize grips for the 4-PW and the Nippon NS pro 105t regular.

My grip size was measured at the upper end of standard close to mid, but mid just felt better in my hand and the tips of my fingers in my glove hand lightly touch my palms as they are supposed to - how have people found going from std to midsize grips? Most people I've heard from seem to suggest this is a positive move and although many people quote it will make you 'less handsey' and make it harder to release, the pro at the Belfry said grip size was more to do with personal preference and the impact on ball flight was minimal.

Second question - I have vokey spin milled in 48/52/56 and 60 which have the DG wedge flex, which I understand is s200 in vokeys. Am going to drop the 60 degree as not using it much, but should I get the same shafts in the others as my irons? The wedges are currently much stiffer than my irons.

Some people say wedges should be stiffer for control whereas others say they should be softer as you are not using them for full shots like a normal iron and therefore to get any feel you need softer shafts. I use the 48 and 52 for full shots as well as shorter shots - only use the 56 for bunkers and around the green where I need height.

Thanks!

So long as you are hitting them OK, I wouldn't change the shafts in the wedges. That would be expensive and you might need to have the swingweight adjusted, and all in all, I doubt you would notice any effect other than on your wallet.

Think its a personal thing but Ive just gone the other way. Have Rifle 6.5s and had them in my Clevelands, have gone back to wedge flex in some Vokeys. For me I found that the rifles meant the clubhead felt a little lighter than ideal. Still not fully confident with the new Vokeys flat out but found a lot more confidence in the mid range shots with them.
