We are all obviously aware of a new PM being required and leader for the Conservatives, but with a vote of no confidence against Corbyn being tabled, what does he go and do, he goes and sacks Hilary Benn!

If ever there was a time for stability I'd have thought it would have been immediately now after this referendum, but then you never can second guess what Corbyn is going to do or say or even not say, so, was this just a case of I'm going to sack you while I can for going against me in the bombing campaign and supporting this vote of no confidence and stating that he (Benn) along with other shadow cabinet ministers have no confidence in him leading the party and winning an election and he's going to go down fighting, or......

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-36632539

How long does Corbyn have, days, weeks.....?

How many shadow ministers will now resign with Corbyn sacking Benn?

Does Labour need a new leader ASAP whilst the referendum is still fresh or should the Labour party stand behind Corbyn and fight it out?

We do not have any credible opposition in this country at the moment the Labour party has become a joke and a membership that elected Corbyn has serious issues

Not sure why anyone gives a monkeys, he is the opposition. The Tories need to get themselves sorted, a plan to go forward and method of deploying their plan. They are the governing party wavering about is hurting business confidence.... Sleeves rolled up and getting on with it.

Yup good point well said, I said during the Brexit vote he was in hiding hoping the Tories would tear itself apart and after the vote he would be our saviour.
Well unfortunately the bloke through his inactivity is now in the firing line and rightly so. Whether the labour card holders want him or not, the bottom line is that he does not connect with Joe Public because he is out of touch and quite frankly, useless.

Well you could argue that a weak labour opposition means that the ruling party can pas more and more right wing policies. It is clear that the labour party are divided and are doing their best to keep it together, but you can't help feel it will explode soon. They have lost a lot of their core vote in the industrial heartlands who have switched mostly to UKIP. And if they had managed to keep those voters on board and also provided some leadership and a coherent argument for staying then I would have said the recent result would have been different.

Not sure to be honest, think a lot is said but the grass roots support brought him in. He offers something different perhaps unpalatable to would be middle of the road Tory voters.
However this is a Tory problem and I would step aside and let them deal with it and let their errors be recorded in history. In away I would not contest an election in the next 2 years.

9 resignations in a day, how many more to come.

Never liked him but up to the EU campaign I though he was a principled man all be it with dodgy principles and friends.

And then like all politicians he did what he thought would be best for him and it's all gone Pete Tong.

Good news then they are in total disarray- let the Tories solve their own problems.
