From a previous post on the selection of the team for this year lets hope it doesn't backfire on them big time David Law who is a member of Royal Aberdeen won the Northen Open yesterday.

This a pro competiton played over 4 rounds and the kid shoot 14 under par ,he is also the Scottish amateur champion not bad for a 20 year old kid. He will now have 4 trophys in the Royal Aberdeen cabinet on show to the selectors.

He said he won't dwell on not being selected and has been given an invite to the Dutch Open on the European Tour, lets hope the selectors haven't made a huge mistake.

I was going to post about this yesterday.

Congratulations to David Law, awesome display of golf against a professional field.

looks like the selectors have got this one wrong.

The mistake has already been made, how can they ignore a guy from the actual course the Walker cup is getting played on, on another point Stevie what are the locals saying about Scotscraig losing the final qualifying for the open.

From what i've heard they are dissapointed which is only natural,i think its just another R&A money spinner as they pay a facilitating fee to each course, whereas now they'll only pay Glasgow Gailes.

The club will still get income from visitors when The Open is at St Andrews and Carnoustie its always maxed out ,at the end of the day it still can say it was an Open qualifying course from 1990.

I haven't played Glasgow Gailes but i'm sure it will be a fantastic test of golf either way,it just brought more atmosphere to the whole place when the qualifying was on.

I don't follow Amateur Golf much and don't know either of the Guys involved but I'd say wait until after the Matches to decide whether the Selectors got it wrong or not. If the Guy who got picked over Laws wins most of his matches then surely the Selectors got it right...?
The decision's been made. Judge it after the event not before.

No :D

Joke of a selection, political madness and face fiting have taken over from actual playing ability.

Whats more annoying is that one of the selections Alan Dunbar from the Rathmore Club in Portrsuh has won nowt this year playing second fiddle to Paul Cutler and is ranked well below David Law,still cant get my head around it.

Well now the competition has been decided and it was a succesful attempt by the GB & I team was the selection still so bad?
