Wake up call!!!

Thanks all, had a restless night, still a few pains but it appears it wasn't a heart attack so a result there. A definite warning for me to make some simple changes and maybe chill out a bit more instead of being a stress head at home & work.

Docs laters to get off these demon cigs for good aswell

Gonna take a few days off work and do some serious evaluating

That's great news and hope you can make the necessary life changes. They're never easy but remember how you felt last night in a hospital bed and use that to motivate you.

Good to hear on the heart attack side but stress & anxiety can lead to other things and is still not a nice place to be, believe me I know, I own businesses and never switch off!

This is why I took up golf, to be lost out their in never-never land.

Take care mate.

My father had a heart attack at 40. He was one of the first patients who trialed Warfarin.
He learned his lesson slowed his life down, stopped smoking, drank less beer [made up for it with whisky though!] and lived a longish and fulfilling life.
Good luck and the advice on here..... is listen to your body.

Good to hear it wasnt as bad as it could have been:whoo:.

Hope u take it all seriously wot ur body and docs are saying and dont fall back into ur old routine in the future as ive seen many times with friends and family, good luck with healthy living:thup:

Some good news then Gibbo!!

You seem a fairly sensible bloke (.... Apart from the number of iron sets  ) and have taken the first step in knowing a change is needed.

Best of luck and good health fella

Good to hear your ok mate , but the warning needs to be heeded , slow change over time rather than mad burst at it..

got a scare in 05 , was drinking too much , internal bleeding from burst ulcer , got my act together , controlled the drinking , then stopped altogether , can take it or leave it now , have a few at weddings , family occasions etc , & more importantly i know when i have enough ..

Its do able mate also you can change the gear with the dosh saved on the smokes .. long road ahead . good luck ..

Thank god for that. The first post was a shock(only just seen it). Look after yourself mate.

Guess this means your clubs wont be for sale then.

Sounds like wind mate, take smoke and a good drink you'll be sound

All joking aside, take it easy fella and listen to your body, next time might not be a false alarm so you do what you can to ensure no next time.

Life is valuable and you don't get a practice swing at it or even a reload, enjoy yourself for as long as possible yes but stay healthy too.

Glad your doing ok mate

Glad it wasnt anything to serious but I can share if your interested that I had a heart Attack at 39. I like you enjoyed life to much maybe and was not aware that my colestrel was high and combined with a streesful job my ticker gave up for a bit. I was lucky as they got it early but afte that thefags had to go and I got fitter not that Iw as over weight but I needed to do more and now I run around 20 odd miles a week and go to the gym 4 times. Im probablyfitter than most 30 yr olds I know and without sharing all the boring details it does give you a wake up call. I changed my job my life as it was, girlfriend, got married to someone else and had a kid at 41!!and while I still love a drink and decent food I do it in partnership of checking my body stats and cholestrol and going to the gym. My golf has also improved a bit since as well!! :) Good luck with the fags that was tough!

Make sure you do see this as a wake up call. I had a heart attack two years ago and ended up having a quadruple Bypass op. You do not want one of those.

Giving up smoking was easy as it was a no brainer, smoke and die young(ish) or stop and live longer.

Anyway get well soon.

Stack and tilt has been known to reduce heart attacks....

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

'Bout time you started looking after yourself mate.... onions, garlic and olive oil for you!!!

Good luck with the recovery and change of lifestyle Steve. Hope the docs get you sorted out quickly.

It's times like these that you suddenly realise that you are mortal after all.

Crikey Steve!! That's a helluva scare.

Everyone's pretty much said it all. Take it as a warning, ease off the bad stuff, chill and generally just look after yourself mate.

Hope you're feeling better soon.

Glad all ok.

One thing I've learnt from my own heart episode when I was 29 is always listen to your body and make the necessary changes!

Good luck and health!

really appreciate all the well wishes and advice. Whilst I can;t guarantee total changes overnight I am definitely going to try and be a bit more easy going and improve my diet/exercise (and the demon cigs)

thanks again
