Does anyone have any recent/current experience of using Dragon Naturally Speaking voice recognition software or similar? Have seen it advertised and am giving thought to purchasing the 'Standard' version. Is it any good? Does it take ages for it to learn your voice or for you to learn how it needs you to speak? Is it accurate?

Cheers for any feedback.

I used it a while ago. It was probably a few versions below today's but it was acceptable, yes there were plenty of mistakes to correct but once you get the hang of it a lot of these are easy to correct and all in all I found it faster than typing out long essays. If you use it with open eyes and accept that there will be mistakes I think it's a good programme.

Thanks Drawboy.

Some evenings I spend about three hours typing and if I could condense that to an hour and a half or less, that would make the £70 outlay for the software well worthwhile!! ;)

I'd intend for it to work in conjunction with a digital dictation machine. Would that set-up work ok?
