Seve Golf....Normal virtual rules... but you choose the club the next player must use and they take it from there... (putter on greens)

Opening hole, 350yrs Par 4, tree lined both sides... ditch across the middle at 240yds

3-wood

...someone take the shot!

Wont carry that with the 3 wood so nice three quarter swing that fades to 220 on right side of the fairway .. heres your 9 iron

I toss the 9 iron back at you with a dismissive latin flick of my wrist. I pull out a 6 iron, aim left of the green and open up the face (is that right I didn't pay much attention to the ball flight threads) why play an easy 9 when you can play a difficult high cut with a 6 iron............

unfortunately I can't and blade it into the bunker on the back left of the green. Here is your sand wedge

Sand wedge? This is SEVE GOLF.. I was hoping for a 3-iron or driver!!!!!

I play a run of the mill Phil Mickelson lob style bunker shot.. and (like him) knob it to 20ft :)

It's downhill and I can't read this triple breaker!

Here's your putter.... (it's a belly putter) :ears:

As it's a belly putter the distance control is hard. As a result it rockets past the hole, catches a nasty down slope and trickles off the green. A chip and run is required........

Here's your eight iron........

None of this easy peasy bump and run action I open the face right up and unnecessarily flop the ball, slam dunk in the hole for bogey. I give that impish Spanish matador smile, toss the 8 iron to the caddy amnd head to the 2nd a 210 yard par three island green with bunkers to the front right and left and sloping back to front, here's your 7 iron

7- iron 210? Isn't that too much club?..:D
I hope there's a bunker at the back to catch it....?

Can anyone on the forum carry that far?...although it only looks maybe 180 to the front edge

(note: Auburn Warriors putt was SHITE! He's supposed to be an expert with that AB putter thingy!)

JO - one word, two syllables - starts with B, ends with S and has ollock in the middle!!!!

Using the Stack & Tilt methodology I step up with the aforementioned seven iron in hand.

Unfortunately, far too much weight on the left side results in a terrible fat!!

190 yards still to go - seven iron still in hand........

Choke down on that 7 iron, feet aimed at the left hand bunker, club aimed at the pin;) , three quarter swing and powder puff that ball with a soft fade.....hang on, its drifting and just catches the right hand bunker. Now thats what im talkin about. Pull out the 60 degree wedge for the fried egg lie that is inevitable..

yeh Baby... That's what I'm talking about!!!!!!! :whoo:

Nice slice... I mean erm, fade....

How no one can fancy this shot is beyond me. I look in disgust at the caddy and eye my 3 iron longingly. The lie is not good and going to need some chop suey action. I play to the crowd and ask if anyone has some bacon to go with my lie. A heavy silence hovers over the green as I sink into the soft sand. As my club strikes I wheel away in a whirling sandstorm the ball hops once and stops 3 inches from the hole. The crowd whoops with delight I give a wan smile and those watching on television are greeted by the gravelly tones of Peter Aliss saying 'most people would be ecstatic with that shot, but then again this is Seve inspired golf. Remarkable. Striding onto the green you keep hold of the lob wedge...
