I used to use the Pro Plus for about 2 years. They were about £19 per dozen with the 6 dozen deal. Then they started ramping up the price and I realised that I didn't really need 6 dozen, was only doing it due to the price. So went back to the Pro V1 and feel I get better results with it.

That's not to say the Vice is a bad ball, it was decent enough at the lower price, but not when they started getting £9-10 per dozen more expensive.

I have tried the Vice Pro Air this year. It should be the ideal ball for me in terms of what it offers, although it was hard for me to judge because I was going through a slicing episode at the time. The price structure does put me off a little bit. One box is £40 now which is not cheap at all. And if you want to try it as a new ball you're not exactly going to buy 5 or 6 boxes just to get the cheaper price are you? So they must be pricing themselves out of new customers to some degree. Most likely why you've posted this thread rather than have a stab with them.

All of that said - all of their balls do get good reviews, and I started to like the Pro Air just as I was running out of them, so I think I'm going to give them a proper go next year when the better weather comes back. I suspect I'll buy three boxes at £35 a box as a bit of a compromise on the price/quantity issue, and it also forces me to actually commit to one ball for a little while rather than having my head turned all the time.

This with bells on for me. I don't understand how vice etc can tempt people to try with such high pricing for 1 dozen. For example £40 (breaks to £35 for 3 dozen) but if you shop around you can get a brands tour ball for about that .. when your suppose to be saving ordering directly from vice ..

I just paid £133.84 for 4 dozen avx for experience shopping around . Do I want to go to vice or a known brand?

Mizuno do a ball that's £40 for 3 dozen ATM aswell

I have been using Bridgestone RX / RXS which is pretty similar to the Vice Pro Air but only costs around £32 a box. So to pay £40 for the Vice would be silly. Have to get three boxes to make it even slightly worthwhile.

Oh hang on. I've just gone on their website and they're doing Black Friday deals. £32 for one box, £30 each for 3, £28 each for 6. That's annoying as I literally just bought a new box of balls last week. 😬

Bridgestone is another I'm thinking of trying, often seem to be on a good deal

Play the Pro Soft in Green for winter - I like them as they are easily found and perform well in the conditions. Always try and stock up if any become available.

I really liked the tour ball they did, it played like a ad333tour. As others have said when you are cutting out the retailer you want a cost saving which seems to have gone.

If they are going down this route, they should do a pick n mix box with 4 mixed sleeves to try so that you can confirm your preferred. Only then does the bulk buy become attractive.

Pro Soft is dead now I think - replaced by the Pro Air that I mentioned above. Should be a similar ball though.

Yeah, I'm sure they used to do that as well, unless that was Snell I'm thinking of. Obviously they've seen the good reviews they were getting and decided they could charge more.

They review as near as damn it as good as Pro V1/x, and they're cheaper. I play them, and they're fine. Plus, as has been mentioned, the lime is awesome this time of year

I found the Vice Pro (Pro V1 equivalent) was no where near as good as the Titleist. The Pro Plus was closer for me but felt firmer and I lost a few yards distance, not that this was a big issue in itself.

Pro was too soft and last a lot of distance over the Pro V1. Using yellow Pro Vs at the minute and even they feel slightly different to the OG white ball.

Yeah the yellow pro v1s have been demonstrated as different to the white ones by MyGolfSpy, it's quite odd

The Pro Plus is the ball I use

I use Vice Tour balls in the Summer & Vice Drive in the winter. I recently bought 5 dozen Drives for £13.99 per dozen, with free printing. I buy them partly because of the printing & usually wait until an offer comes along. I find they are as good as the Bridgestones I used to use & the lack of spin from the cheap Drives isn't an issue in the winter.

The only time I tried Vice was when they first came out.
The did a trial box of one of each of the 4 types.
Bought 3 dozen and immediately sold the 2 lots of 2 piece balls.
The Vice pro and the pro+ were both very good but they did suffer from them very quickly turned off white.

Never tried again as the price increased so much.

Found better deals in other 3/4 piece balls

One of the best deals around is the Kirkland signature if you shop about for them.
