I've just had an email from Direct Golf to say that there monintor is now in and I can have a FREE 20Min session (Normally £20), so have booked myself in for this Thursday.

Has anybody had a blast on one of these babies, if so how did you get on? It's meant to measure:-

* Vertical Angle
* Ball Speed
* Side Spin
* Back Spin
* Side Angle

Aparantly after this session I will know:-

* What is the best ball for me
* The perfect loft of driver for me
* What type of shaft I should be using.

Seems very clever to me.

It is very clever, and obviously what they hope is that your current driver will be totally unsuitable (highly likely) and so you will feel the need to buy a new one.

Good luck.

Does it all mate and does it well!

Have fun. You need ant new clubs? Use it to get fitted

Always good to take your own clubs to see how well you really do hit them

To be honest I'm hitting my irons really well, but am struggling like mad with my driver. I actually popped in there at lunchtime and had a blast with the Admas Insight XTD A3 Square Driver and the Nike Sumo SQ 5000. and couldn't really choose between them, except the sales guy really wanted me to buy the Adams (no suprise there really) and to be fair i did hit it slightly straighter and longer but I think it was down to the head being offset, in fact I did draw 25% of them and I'm a natural slicer.

Price wise though I am a bit of a stingy git, and at £119 the Nike is tempting me, where as the Adams is £179.

Think I'll wait to see what the Launch Monitor says!

To be honest I would never buy another club unless it was fitted on a vector.

Its all about finding the shaft that suits you best, the heads almost seem irrelevent at the time of fitting. Obviously there not.

But what I find amazing is that when people dont get on well with a club, they normally go out and buy club X because a few reviews said it was easy to launch or it helped straighten a slice.

The only way to find a setup right for you is using the vector IMO

Got fitted by one at AG the other week, pretty good stuff.

How did it score you?

What did you learn from it?

and

What did you buy?

No idea how it scored me, didnt learn anything from it but they said I needed an extra two tapes on the grips, I bought the FP's and picked up on Friday night, its very strange playing with normal cavs when you are used to wide sole improver irons.

It's all about the numbers - swing speed and ball speed are the key ones really. I think the ratio they are looking for is 1.5 - they then give you different weight/combination to get something that suits you. Of course, there's no point in getting something you can't hit or don't like despite what the numbers say......

True.

How do you rate your driver?

I love these gadgets. It was the only thing I've found that truely measured my swing speed accurately and gave me a clear indication of my swings speeds, flight, spin and even dispertion and showed the huge difference and benefits to me of graphite over steel.

Re: My Driver

I have a 65-S NVS Shaft it in and it's 1/2 shorter than normal....it goes pretty good...there the only heads that seem to sit square - those TM's all sit soooooo shut it's unbelievable.....

User error is quite high but on the odd occasion it 'shifts'....

Re: My Driver

I found the TMs sit shut, unless you buy a TP version, which sits open. I bought Titleist, because it sits square. Not a lot to ask for really, as if I hit it square, it goes square. Why do I want to aim straight swing straight and hit left?

The Cally big bertha is so closed you think it will hit your left ankle.

I find Odyssey putters sit closed as well.

Sammmebee, all your clubs shift. The only trouble is direction!

Re: My Driver

Clever things....yes....no doubt.

Only trouble is, you can end up buying gear that is "ideal" for you at that moment in time only to regret it later after a few good lessons and swing changes.

I got my Callaway FT-3 "draw-bias" fitted using a computer.
Great!....until I started playing better and squaring the face more. I had endless hooks for weeks and had to buy another driver.

As if happens, I've been slicing recently and the draw model is back in the bag.....tasty!!!

If I start hooking again, guess what?.....hello Ping!!
