So i went to a toptracer range yesterday and my stats were as follows

Average Carry 247 yards
Average Distance 284 yards
Average Ball Speed 184 mph
Average Launch Angle 9 degrees
Average Height 76 feet
Average Hang time 5.5 seconds

The purpose of this thread is really to establish whats going on... because, the guy in the booth next to me was averaging 140 ball speed and hitting it 30 yards past me.

I appreciate there must be swing differences but i do play off 4 and i am a good player.

Is this a potential loft / shaft / spin issue and if so should i arrange a session with a pro to try and get the best combination as i now feel i am leaving a lot behind on the tee.

One thing that stands out is a very low launch angle - a pro will be able to tell you the cause (swing/shaft/clubhead/loft/etc.) and find a solution.

I have been looking at other stats on the internet and it seems that launch should be around 12/14 degrees.
i am not sure how i find 5 degrees of upwards angle though!!!!
I can crank the loft up on the club of course and give that a try but hate the way they end up looking closed as my bad shot is left.

I have questions.
''Average Ball Speed 184 mph'' That would give you a swing speed of around 120mph (assuming 1.5 smash factor) and 284 yards.
The other guy was 140 ball speed so 80 mph swing speed and 314 yards average?

I would tee it up higher and move it forward in your stance 3-5 inches then work on your short game.

I had this very problem years ago ( still do) .
My mate who had a 10mph slower swing hit it past me all the time.
It’s all in the delivery of the head.
I was hitting down on the ball by 4 degrees, he was 2 up.
It’s a massive thing and belive me it’s quite hard to change.

Launch and height are to low you will need to sort them out.
If you sort the launch the height will sort itself out.

Not saying this is your problem but it’s so similar a story I would put money on it.
A proper Trackman session / lesson is the answer .
Find out why your launch is so low.
Good luck.

Bob, 140 ball speed likely to be around 95mph clubhead speed, surely? Typical carry around 230-ish?

Apologies I was looking at the 120.
So 95mph swing speed = 140 ball speed which still gets nowhere near 315
As I said, the numbers are still ludicrous.
And by the way, congratulations to the OP for having an average ball speed faster than Rory Mcllroy
