Just thought I'd set up a thread for any Good/Useful/Eye opening videos that anyone has watched recently.

Personally the videos that Garyinderry posted up recently about the movement of the right shoulder in the downswing have really helped my ball striking, so I thought thought it'd be a good idea for others to share here.

A brief description of the the Video would be good just so
we know if its something that could help us out..

I'll start off with this from James Ridyard.
Its a simple but interesting tip on judging wedge distances when practicing..

Thanks looks a very useful video I could use.

As I've posted before the driver is something I'm very inconsistent and have been told I struggle with release- with but last week I found this wee nugget and I think it's something that will help the more I work on.

There's 5 videos in the series so it may just help someone out there.

NB: I think it's good to point out though that often videos don't help as we can only think/estimate what the problem is... getting a lesson from a good pro will always be of more benefit- if a fair bit more costly

I have been having issues hitting my wedges consistently and keep leaving them short (mainly down to strike and hitting it fat) which means why i do catch it cleanly it flies over the green. Found this video very useful and also the one on the course that they do after. Completely changed my wedge technique on pitch shots.

Focuses on hitting the ball low on the face and having a much flatter swing so generate a lot of spin.

I have to say it has helped me so far, hard to see an increase of spin with wet fairways though!

I do find Dan Whittaker a great coach and he explains everything very clearly. His videos on approach distance is also very good.

agreed-I find him and Chris Ryan are the best for instructionals as they don't seem to buy into all the celebrity/entertainment notions of the other top youtubers... from the other side of the pond like Andrew rice, Martin Hall and Martin chuck

Until I moved to a club with a good pro (meaning less travel was required for lessons) I used to go to Chris Ryan at the Belfry. He is good, having helped get my handicap down from 10 to 5.

My kind of thread. Luke Donald's masterclass is well worth a watch. Nice pocket size tips to take away and practice. there is now two sets of these. Here is the first, the rest are on the links at the side or just look through Mizuno's YouTube videos.

For those posting videos. If you click that video reel symbol and copy the link to the video in there it posts the video rather than the link. Take a second to do and will make this thread much cleaner and easier to navigate.

Sort of related, thought I'd see what you guys think. I've recently been seeing a LOT of adverts on Youtube for Tathata Golf. It's being marketed as the martial arts instructional video for Golf. It's a 60 day instructional plan that is completed by following a series of online videos. Seems a bit mental to me and can't see how it would possibly be effective, and think it's even more mental when you take into account that it's almost $200.

What on earth is Gary Mccords 'Tash all about??

What is he using on that..Superglue?

I just searched for tathata on the forum, and this was the only link I found. It comes up on 2/3 of the YouTube videos I open. Surely someone must have succumbed... If it was £20 instead of £200, I might have given it a go. It does look plausible, and the use of slow motion exercises and stretching etc is one that quite a few teachers advocate.

Maybe, like 'high lofted putters' the public ridicule would be too much to bear.

For the sake of easyiness and to stop individuals having to trawl this thread for advice

Can I propose that I just stick a video of my swing?

I think if people watch me and then try and do the complete opposite to me then they will be ok.

Use me as the benchmark of things to avoid and you will be reet
