Use of buggies

Were not allowed to use buggies in comps, unless you have a doctor's note. Some guys do have their own buggies/trikes and are allowed to use them but they give a note to the club each year. I did actually hear someone get pulled up about using a buggy 2 weeks ago and got told that he couldn't enter the comp, which was ridiculous in my eyes 😠

I thoughts golf rules were sell regulated! If a golfers says he needs a buggy that should be enough, no doctors note should be demand.

We do allow them for people if they really need them but we only have about 4 buggies. I've never seen anyone needing a buggy win a comp but at least they do get a game of Golf!

I use a buggy every year at the Cooden meet (can't manage walking for 36 holes these days) and I've never won it. Come close on a couple of occasions but not actually won. So I'm in

Because you just might want to. What's the problem

That's fair enough but it could give you an advantage over the rest of the field in a competition. I'm sure there is a reason why so many pros spend a lot of time in the gym these days keeping fit.

if I thought a buggie could have a meaningful effect on my game I'd be in one every week!
