Hi Everyone,

Have come across a new machine in my driving range called an ultrasonic golf club cleaner.
It is supposed to clean the clubs using only water and ultrasonic waves in 4 minutes... I did not try.

Has anyone else come across there machines?
Do you think this is a good method for cleaning clubs? It's got to be better than scrubbing them?

I had them done by one of these at Bearwood after the game. Reasonably impressed. I'd use it if it was part of the day - as per Bearwood - but I don't think I'd part with hard cash for it separately.

What's wrong with a bucket of lukewarm water and a washing up nylon brush? it takes about the same time and costs nowt.

Call me a cynic but a name like "clean"shot and an opening post about getting clubs cleaned. A connection per chance. I've seen these thins in operation (Downshire drivining range has one) and they do seem to do a reasonable job but I prefer to do my own (personal pride and all that) and a bowl of lukewarm water and a towel is a lot cheaper and easier than carting them to a range after a round

Cleaning clubs is part and parcel of enjoying the game. I get a buzz from getting all the muck off them and making them all shiny again.

So do I!
Some nice warm soapy water and a small brush together with a wooden tee with a nice sharp point to get all the mud out of the grooves.
I also like getting the mud out of the numbers on the bottom too.
Number 8 is the bestest fun

i use one of theese in the laboratory at work to take the aeration out of samples before i test them. I was working nights last night and took my clubs in to clean. It is an awesome way to clean them but i normally put them all in and leave them for about an hour or so i wouldnt have thought 4 minutes is anywhere near long enough.

Have not tried... Doing research.

Wanted an honest opinion from the people that matter - golfers!

I personally would love to try the machine but do not want to spend the money buying one on a whim (should have tried the one at the range - but it was busy).

I saw one in a driving range and contacted the number on the side - turned out to be a franchise which anyone can buy into.

I have been working on a website (but i'ts 90% empty) just in case I decide to go ahead.

Would still welcome honest comments.

This is not an advertisement. Just wanted to get a feel for the attitudes on cleaning clubs.

I can definatley see the appeal of cleaning your own clubs - I do like to be responsible for them and feel I've acheived something when I'm done...... But I do sometimes leave them dirty - and then make the bag and car boot dirty!
