Ugly mug

Yes Aztec have three of them. The one in the pic. A 410 plus 2 810 ltd editions 6&12 string. Plus a few handmade ones. Just like new shinnies can't help it.

Jealous.

I play left handed so the choice (and price) is at a premium. I only have a Big Baby as my main acoustic (I also have a Martin traveller - the one shaped like a proper guitar).

Hope to one day own a high end Taylor, but haven't played much in the last few years so can't really justify it!

Also own a 2002 US Strat:

and a custom build Morgan Merlin built by a mate of mine who runs Morgan Guitar Works/Morgan Custom Guitars

Guitars were my obsession whilst golf took a back seat.

Some nice gear there. Aztec I have a lefthanded guitar Just lay about. If I ever get to play golf with you, you can have it. Its nowt special. But its not getting used. I'm lefthanded but play righthanded. So its yours if you want it.

Thanks for the gesture mate but I have no room for any more guitars in my house :(

LMAO. True to true.

What type of music do you play Aztec? Myself its Dylan, Cohen(razorblade music eh) plus a bit of classical.

Mostly singer songwriter/pop stuff.

Namely;

Counting Crows, Jason Mraz, Barenaked Ladies, Damien Rice, Hootie and the Blowfish, John Mayer etc..

I also love re-working pop songs for acoustic guitar (Katy Perry's California Girls, Go West's King of Wishful Thinking are two I've enjoyed doing).

I'm probably going to regret doing this, but I used to record covers and upload them to YouTube, you can watch them here: http://www.youtube.com/jon1eve (as if you lot didn't have enough ammo to take the pish already! :D)

I apologise in advance as a lot of them are out of tune or just sound flat out terrible due to a combo of my terrible playing/singing and a terrible laptop Microphone.

I did record a John Mayer cover in a proper studio which was a great experience and it's amazing how good you can get a song to sound when you have about 50 takes to get it right :D

Hey I like. Are you using DADGAD tuning on some there. Or an open tuning?. Fingerpick myself. Could never get on with a pick kept dropping them lol.

Wish I could finger pick, something I've never got to grips with (or given enough time to). I love percussive strumming mostly (as you can probably tell, lol)

No weird tunings other than half a step down or a full step down from EADGBE. Cheers though! :)

Yes I normally tune down a half. Think most sing a half flat. Is that the martin from looking at the scratch plate?
They have a nice sort of earthy old sound. I find that mahogony(sp) bodies are more mellow, Rosewood brighter more modern sound. The topend Taylors tend to be rosewood. Have a 20yr old handmade ltd Yamaha. That is mahogony with a cedar sound board. The sound is like the deepsouth its so mellow.

No, that's my Taylor Big Baby which doesn't have an ounce of solid wood on the body...But it sounds awesome to my ears, like a much more expensive guitar than it is

Dont show me pics of Marshall amps. I had my electro/acustic marshall valve amp nicked way back. Bet theres enough on here to make a band. Some real nice stuff there mate.
