By crikey they are horrible cars though. I don't just mean aesthetically, but to drive and be driven in. I wouldn't care how reliable they are, just no . (My FiL had 2, I speak from experience)

They are like a cheap car from the 80's. The plastics, suspension, noise levels, seats, comfort, just horrible. If you want a reliable, short journey car and don't care about the pleasantries of the journey, it's a good buy. If you want A-B to be pleasant, buy just about anything else

I've a 67 (2018) Seat Leon to trade in with 89,500 on the clock : reg is OW67DPF

What would be a fair "cost to change" ?

Cinch have valued my car (from online) at £6,122 but not sure how accurate that is.


Also any tips for dealing with used car salesmen, who at best I find, challenging!

I can't help on specific advice about buying, but what I can tell you is the Karoq is a ruddy lovely motor. and the SE L is really well spec'd without getting into the additional expense of having the Sportline or vRS.

We have two Skodas and I cannot say enough good things about either of them.

My youngest has a Seat Atteca FR (its the sister car of the Taroq).
It's a lovely car and goes rather well. I wouldn't neccessarily assume the Skoda variant is the cheapest either.
