well am changing my 775cb irons and my 2 ball belly putter, already sold them on ebay yesterday (for a nice sum) but new nike cavity and redwood anser arent here yet so gave them a final outing

shot a 90 for 43 points which included 2 8's!!! Parred the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 10th & 12th all bar 1 I 2 putted aswell so thats 4 birdie opportunities which is as rare as Liverpool winning a title!

left a load of putts short though and only used driver once as my power fade is not so bad with 3 wood or hybrids :)

lets hope the new irons and putter get me the sub 90 round.
 
cheers fella's, have to say I hit a sublime 7 iron to 8 feet over water on the 3rd, would have looked great on sky tv lol

have had a couple of 91's and a 92 in the last 6 weeks so its nearly there. If it wasnt for them horror holes grrrrr. Going to put in some serious range time as my tee shots are still killing me for making a decent score

still don't get a cut though as it was just a Sunday roll up :(

Hopefully it'll carry on once the newbies arrive although don't be too upset if you have a few dodgy ones as you get use to the new bats. Apart from the odd horror there sounds like some good golfing going on there
 
thanks again folks, I know its not in the realms of you blokes in single figure/low teens but I know you have been there and appreciate it doesnt happen overnight and how bloody frustrating this game can be :)

Rick, the VR hybrids are going like rockets at the mo and really saving my arse after crappy tee shots :)

got 230 just right of the green with 2h, even my mate off 10 was applauding (thats why I am hanging in there despite the crap stuff every other shot)
 
Good shooting, looks like we both had a good weekend! Still not using my new driver as it likes to right too much! Here's to use nailing it over the winter! Got my sights on sub 90 as still left plenty of shots out there. Keep it up fella hope the new bats help you push on.

Steve,
Stick the driver in the garage for now and just use the hybrid off the tee. Getting it in play is far more important than distance. With your shots, there isn't a single green that you need to hit in regulation so use your shots available. Like you said, the hybrids are going superb, so cash in on that fact.
 
Like you, I still haven't broken 90 yet but keep getting close, next year will see the driver banished to under the stairs as my 3 wood is a lot straighter and more reliable.

If they work dont knock them, I did try the Nike split cavities but the shafts in them were too stiff for me, stayed with Callaway in the end. I hope to play with you and your Nikes and sign you off well below 90. Best
