Firstly, Re-griped my first golf club today with help from Gamola Golf supplying the grip in record time and at a crazy cheap price!

Very impressed with how easy it was! Will be going through my range of clubs as the drips are drying out and are very hard.

Secondly, my wonderful wifey just sent me the booking confirmation for my Open ticket at Royal Lytham! Going on the Sunday so fingers crossed for good weather and good golf!

Don't know if I could be bothered doing my own grips. Looks a good job though.

I'll be off to the Open though, seeing as it's down the road from me :)

Doubt I'll swing all 4 days but thinking of maybe going a practice day, Friday and either Saturday or Sunday. Looking forward to it

Its seriously a piece of weewee. It took about 5 minutes to do. The most time consuming bit is cutting the grip off but its not surgery so its easy! Thinking of offering the re-gripping service to colleagues!

That was my thinking, I can't not go to the Open when its on my doorstep!

It is a peasy job to do. Heck if I can do it and keep all digits intact then anyone can. That said its been a couple of years since I did it as its more convenient to get the pro to do it as the clubs live in my locker anyway rather than ferry them home and back to the club again

There's a spider on your grip, surprised no one else noticed it!

Wanted to do this myself, do you need special tools etc?

Honestly DV I can do it and I am to all forms of DIY what Cyril Smith was to Hang-Gliding......

Stanley Knife
White Spirit
Tape
Grip

There are other items that can make life easier but if you've got those then you can do it.

My Pro charges extortionate amounts for grips.
£11 for GP Multi-Compound + fitting...!
I think it's even £7+ for a Tour Velvet........
Bet he doesn't do many.

A doodle! As imurg said knife tape and white spirit and the new grip took me about 5 mins to change my putter grip.

why bother most club pros will fit for free if you buy the grips from them.

Well my grip was £3.05 and the tape was £0.25, white spirits was free from my father and 5 mins of my time was priceless.

so for roughly £3.50 + my time I have a nice new grip. You try and fine a pro who will:

1. get you a grip for that price
2. fit it free at that price

Just ordered another 2 for my wedges and a new putter grip. all in was £15 delivered.
