Tube stations with good parking south east London

We are having a family holiday not too far from Gravesend, I was wondering does anyone know of a tube station with good cheap car parking South East of London, I don't mind driving in a little way, we used to do this at Gants Hill and I have been told you can do this at Cockfosters too but they are a little far from where we are staying.

We are looking at taking the kids to the museums and maybe down the river for the day and it would be handy if someone could help with a good tube station to park at so we don't have to get the train from too far out, this way we can then get a family day ticket for the tube rather than having to buy train tickets and tube tickets.

Trying to think of somewhere , trouble is there aren't many tube lines in south east london it's mostly British rail , there are lots of then though and most have parking

You can use your oyster cards on British rail within greater london as well or travelcards or whatever

Parking at eltham is 4.50 for 24 hours according to my pal

You can pick up the Jubilee line at the O2 (North Greenwich) but parking prices are prohibitive!
Or you can get the DLR from (the now infamous) Woolwich Arsenal

Train from Gravesend isn't that bad - maybe about an hour into the middle of London (much less if you get the high speed train to St Pancras). If you were driving from Gravesend and then getting the tube the rest of the way chances are you'll take more than an hour anyway.

Having spoken to someone who lives near Dover I know he has recommended Ebbsfleet due to the high speed rail link taking around 20 min with parking for about £8, I have also been informed I can get a ticket that will cover tube travel too.

The other one I considered was city airport but parking is around £15 I guess the O2 would be similar to this.

I think you'll find the high speed rail link from Ebbsfleet is considerably more expensive than the standard ticket, the standard journey is about an hour, the high speed about 20 minutes I think. Sorry to raise it but I know you mentioned cost was a factor.

You can park on the road for free around Forest Hill and get on the Overground Line. Get off at Canada Water and your on the Jubilee Line.
