Made a promise at the start of the year to not buy any new new clubs this year.
Well, still in January and I'm struggling. Got some mpt 10 wedges off jammy dodgers few weeks ago, but I'm missing the vokeys already. I seem to have lost yards and it has thrown out my distance gap, so I now have a 20+ yard gap between 52 and pw and I don't know what to do. Do I just manipulate the pw, get the 52 made strong, I which case no promises broken, or do I go back and buy a 52&56 vokey?
Thanks.

BIIIG promise and a brave one! Personally its about getting the most from your equipment and enjoying the game and if you are having doubts and niggles and have the cash to change then I'd say forget the promise and get some wedges you are happy with. At least you'll stand there and know it wasn't the club and you trying to force it when it goes wrong and when you stiff it for birdie you can smile at the vindication of your choice

the gap was only 10 yards before i changed wedges to mizuno, is it possible that the forged wedges dont give the same distance as the cast vokey?
I realise it was a brave promise, but it was to try and bring consistancy as over the last year i have changed clubs far to often, mostly the driver, but wedges too.

I must be one of the few that the Vokeys just dont suit my eye or play, my 52* Vokey will be getting sold and I'll be going for the new 52 and 56 Mizuno wedges

i would get the 52* made strong.i currently use 48*,56* and 60* and find that it works much better than carrying the 52* that i use to have.

it's all down to personal preference and what your game is like but i think you are asking about this means you need something a little bit stronger than the 52*.

what i do is for anything thats longer than the 56* i use the 48* and it works perfectly well,i even use it sometimes for shots that i could make with the 56* but find the slightly easier shot gives me more control and accuracy.

you need to get hold of a 47/48 wedge and have a practise to see how you get on.if you like it,get the 52* you have made stronger and you still have kept your promise :)

its definately an option wull, could get it bent to 50, and that should cover the bases.
If i go for the vokeys again, it will be the sm4 ones, they have them at the pro shop at the gc, they look awesome, and I would rather give the business to the pro and get what I am after. right finish, right bounce etc. going to try to hang off for a bit if i can though lol

I had a 47° PW then 52° GW and thought the yardage gap was slightly too big so had the GW bent to 51°.

I know it doesn't sound like much but it closes the gap just enough to be useful.
