Trump's Place

Craw your opinion is so far off the mark its not true. It is a beautiful designed course. I have never had a bad experience on the course. Unlike a lot of so called quality courses i have played.

Have to agree with Crawford here Richard. KB while a decent course is not £195 good. Personally, Gullane No.1 and Dornoch are better courses. You take KB out of its location and it becomes mediocre at best.
Whether Trump Int wil be that good remains to be seen. We have a number of coursss (think Archerfield Links) that have been built up high but in reality are nothing better than good.

Again, opinion based on experience of playing all I have mentioned.

Greig, you cant be serious, its all about location, is it not. I do agree that £195 is a lot of money, but its about the whole experience. Have you played Archerfield Or Renaissance. Have you read to reviews that they have been getting on here. These courses are serious. I would love to get you on the course one day. Lots of my friends are members.

I will be playing the Trump course as soon as I get round to booking a date and organising - price is expensive but the pictures on the website look awesome.
Kings Barns, C Stuart, Renaissance, Archerfield are all fantastic but not really built in the dunes.
The Trump course while new is built right in the dunes - I can't wait to try it out.

I'm going to contradict what I have said on another topic now and say I'd pay £150.00 to play it as it looks pretty stunning on the web site gallery.

Would just be my luck though to have raining cats & dogs the day I play which would definitely put a damper on it.

So much hype over this course it'll be interesting to see if it lives up to expectation and the price tag. Would I play it at that price? Probably but add in the travel and accommodation on top and it become a big deal and would have to be something ultra special

Absolutely serious. No its not all about location, thats for Americans. A good golf course is about a mix of characteristics location is just a part of it.
I have played both courses at Archerfield several times, good but not spectacular. Not played Renaissance but my dad has and, as a pro (so take his feedback seriously) was not bowled over by it. I dont go out to play golf to look at the sights or to get served on a silver plate, I go to play the game against the course.
Yes a good service and experience is good but it doesnt change how good the COURSE is.

Get yourself through to Western Gailes, Machrihanish, Machrihanish Dunes etc proper links laid out as the land dictated.

Controversial but I'd say Longniddry ticks more boxes than KB.

I really enjoy KB to be honest i played it last season for nowt and had a great day 2 rounds for hee haw cant beat free golf.

im playing it on monday 2.45 tee off then staying up there to do cruden bay 4 day open for £80, so the £150 for trumps place , cruden balances it out abit for the weeks golf,
played a few tops courses including dornoch ,turnberry and machrihanish in the last8 months, so will be intrested to see how it matches up

theres a lad on the hdid site has got 1st tee time on sunday and he plays off 1 so i reckon his mates have got no chance in grabbing the tee off him

I've played Archerfield countless times and Renaissance maybe a dozen or so times, both decent tracks, and Renaissance will get better with the new holes, but both are decent, nothing more.North Berwick & Gullane 1&2 are better golf courses, as is Muirfield.Kingsbarns is over-rated too, but still a nice course.

Try Dornoch or Western Gailes, Royal Aberdeen or Carnoustie for proper links golf.

I have never said any of these courses are PROPER LINKS COURSES. IMO they are fantastic courses. Nothing more, nothing less.

Bet a few of the locals have jumped on for a few holes late in the evening.
