TRS Slider

Rick Shiels just review this on his 'HIT' channel. He seemed to like it and said he would continue to use it. He also gave a 10% discount for buying one. Still a lot of money though.

Does anyone else have the 'FinalPutt' version and is definitely the exact same thing? I'd be tempted to try one of them at half the cost.

so you're telling me a youtuber rates a training aid where he has a discount code and likely gets a financial return from recommending it? I am very shocked he liked it as much as he did.....

I think Rick is normally pretty honest if he's been paid or not. He said they sent it to him but I don't think they've paid him. I didn't quite wax lyrical about it, he said there was an upside and a downside, but generally liked it. His HIT channel is meant to be about unbiased testing, it's like the whole reason it exists.

I think the final putt one would do the job tbh I think slider probs better for full shot practice as it offers more movement around the body but think the final putt one will get you the impact feeling

Rick would have got on better with it if he had worn it correctly. It was practically around his stomach which is why he had the issues on his follow through.

Yea the comments said he should have pushed it up higher on the chest. Instructions unclear. 😂 Maybe he should actually look at them before making the vid rather than unboxing it 'live'.

got mine out on the range for the first time.

mixed bag for me, not the TRS's fault, just retraining by swing, which is very armsy. When it did go well, with the sliders help, like a revelation, just rotating through the ball no effort and the ball flying off into the distance. Will keep cracking on with it, and hopefully get that swing feeling grooved

With so many versions hitting the market, it would be great to see a back to back comparison and review from one credible pro.

I've bought one to try and curtail the chicken wing I feel I have. It's ok, but will take time to have much impact I feel.
The only gripe I have is that it took a week to arrive, after saying the day it was ordered and paid for it was being dispatched and on it's way. It looks to me as if there is no UK stock holding. Very disappointing.

Did you go for the TRS or swing sync

Why not take it to one of your trackman sessions and see what it does to your delivery numbers … just as a point of interest. I don’t know what the out come would be but could be worth a look.
I did this today and to be honest....the changes were subtle...but there was something there.... after warming up I hit 10 shots with the 7 iron, then 30 more, this time strapped in to the TRS; finally I finished with another 14 shots with the Slider removed.

I've deliberately split the Slider numbers in to groups to show that, initially until a few swings had been made it does take a little bit of getting used to...but slowly there was a small effect as more balls were hit. The thing I think with the Slider is, is that because your trail arm is not locked in position, you still have a lot of scope for your natural swing to retain its character and it is possibly only over a long period of time of use will the effect be more ingrained...more on that in a moment. Devices where your trail arm is really locked in to your side may well show a greater more immediate effect on the delivery of the clubhead.

Initially I found the slider to be a little restrictive in the follow through...I found it preventing a full follow through and felt some resistance to allowing my arms to complete the swing....and that is the slider doing exactly what it should so, in my opinion!! I'm quite armsy in my swing...I'm a short fat bugger lacking in flexibility, so, over time I believe I've naturally compensated by using my arms more. However, feeling the resistance of the slider in the follow through actually encouraged me to start rotate my upper body more in the downswing rather than the arms leaving it behind...and when I got it right, you could feel the restriction virtually disappear.

There was a short period where I hit a nice groove where my swing felt very synchronized between the arms and upper body and I hit some very good shots. Of course I went and spoiled it by starting to "try" and the performance dropped a bit, but even within the latter shots there were a couple where I focused on maintaining that "connection" between arms and body and saw positive results.

I do believe that the TRS Slider is a product that needs to be used when hitting balls....I don't think you would get as much value out of it just say swinging a club at thin air in your back garden....you really need the positive reinforcement that you get from knowing that you have hit a good ball and being able to reconcile that with the feeling of connection through the swing...you can match the two together and get a real understanding of what the Slider has allowed you to do.

Obviously, from the last row of data, where I've removed the slider, there is another peak in performance...now, whether that is simply me really getting warmed up (though I had already hit maybe 20 balls with various clubs as a warm up) or whether there was a residual effect from the slider in helping me maintain the previously mentioned connection, I dont know.

What i do know is that i will be incorporating the slider more and more into regular practice sessions down the range...nutting a ball into the distance and at the same time what a "connected" swing felt like, is a very powerful sensation indeed. I suspect the sliders benefits will be beneficial far more after a period of long term use, than would be revealed in a single range session.

I've given in after a few times of hearing the name of this thing and I finally googled to see what it is... It's a big strap with a little strap attached? And it's about a hundred quid? Christ

I'm pretty sure this is the same thing for £30.

It is indeed and that still seems a lot for something you could probably make with a couple of straps off Amazon or something
Yeah, I've genuinely debated buying one for weeks, months, as I think it fixes the kind of issue I've had in the past. But I've managed without so far, I just try and picture the feeling it would provide anyway - i.e. keeping my right upper arm and elbow tucked in on the backswing and turning my whole body through on the downswing. I've never actually bought or used a training aid as I worry I'd look and feel silly tbh.
