Ok so after my first round today, my playing partner had a trolley whilst i carriered my bag around, it was'nt heavy but i did notice i was virtually the only person carrying their bag.
Seeing as xmas is coming i may ask my missus for a trolley, can anyone recommend one maybe £150 max?
Or are they just one extravengce too far?

Depends what you are looking for. You can get some decent state of the art push/pull models for £150 although these can be a bit of a slog in damper conditions even with hedgehogs on. If you can swing it I'd go for an electric version. There are some (Go Kart Hill Billy etc) that you can pick up for between £235 and £260.

I am diabetic and found I got very tired carrying but have a lot more energy since I got my go-kart. It helps the concentration levels at the end of the round although I can still muck the last few holes up with great aplomb.

It's early days so I'd have a think. What you do need to bear in mind though is that you might be carrying an umbrella and waterproofs in the winter and so the bag might be heavier than normal anyway.

I carry at my club, it's very flat, and use a powercaddy at longer and hillier courses.

I have noticed the same as Homer, when using the powerkaddy I still feel fresh even after 18 holes, yet before I owned one i did used to feel a little tired towards the end.

Again as stated earlier during the winter you are more likely to take more with you, waterproofs, extra layers etc.

If your on a budget take a look on the club notice board, sooner or later you'll see something for sale that will suit your needs

If you dont carry, you are an old Ping wanging poof.

Honestly, It isnt an armchair sport, nothing wrong with getting the heart going carrying the weight and hitting a few hills.

Another vote for the Powakaddy 3. You can pick them up with a brolly holder for about £100.

That said sometimes I yearn to be a manly man like Brendy and carry my clubs...then I remember that I get knackered :D

Most run off batteries of varying type and are controlled by a button or roller on the handle. Some of the flash (and therefore expensive) ones can work on remote control or be pre-set to run certain distances

Time to man up, Frank vincent says so...

So i need to carry to be a man huh?

Ok next week I'll carry, knacker my knee and ankle and take the rest of the month off....

Or not!!!! :D

I like to carry when I am out to practice, so I mostly carry, and we have an electric trolly ban at Galgorm over the winter so carry all winter. Usually use the powwakaddy for comps and matches :)

I find this a good topic because I much prefer to use my electric trolley as it does save on the energy and i tend to get a bad back and bad knee but when it's damp I like to clean my clubs as I walk after each shot and by carrying you can do that a lot easier. I hate having to try and clean clubs while walking with the trolley.
So currently I'm carrying but I know I should be on the trolley as it's easier.
