Trojan Horse Schools.

For someone to suggest that religion should not be taught in schools beggars belief. Religion should be taught in schools but not just the one. If you are not educated re Christianity, Muslim, Sikh, Buddhism etc etc then how can you have an understanding of what a persons beliefs are based upon.

What does disgust me re this Trojan horse scenario is children are in any other language being groomed in Muslim extremism.

It is not a witch hunt to find out who these people are either send them down or deport them if guilty.

theres no place in this so called multicultural society for this to be allowed in our schools.

What is happening in those schools flies in the face of multiculturalism. They have created a mono culture that excludes others.

The suggestion was not that religions should not be taught but rather the schools be secular and not controlled by any single religion.

I didn't say the article didn't infer the children were white. Of that I have no doubt. What I am saying is that the children being white is not given as the reason for the lower Ofsted rating. That is a separate thing entirely although your original post on the topic stated it was the reason. Post 14 on page 2 from Hacker Khan seems a good explanation.

Boom, someone finally thinks I talk some sense. Unfortunately GMC, you are a sad deluded fool ;)

Find it very disheartening that there is felt a need to teach multiculturalism...

Stick kids in a playground and 'multiculturalism' will happen 'naturally'...

I think your recollection of your school days differs from mine. Diversity was not generally well-received on the playgrounds of my youth....

In my youth there was only ever one non-Scot in the playground. He was an English kid called Charlie Goff and, once he had absorbed the inevitable mickey-taking over his nationality and name, he eventually became just another pupil.

It is in schools remit to ensure that their children are ready for the world of work and are developed socially and emotionally. And schools see multiculturalism as part of this remit.

To be honest at primary school age the kids do not realise they are being taught it as it becomes a natural part of learning along side their times tables. The example from the original story of taking kids to a school in London is probably not the best way of dealing with it if that is all they were doing, but I am guessing the trip would be part of a more holistic approach. But of course that is a bit complicated for the papers to explain, and probably does not fit in with their agenda.

And much as I would love to trust human nature when it comes to accepting other races or cultures, I agree that kids do not see people as different until they are told/programmed to do otherwise. But I think a look at world history or even the rise of the far right across parts of Europe in the recent elections may suggest that a bit of help and understanding at a young age may not go amiss.

In my youth at primary school there was one black kid who, for some reason best known to no one, was chased around the playground when Liverpool won the European cup and beaten up a bit. Looking back on it he was racially abused on a horrendous scale, and a bit of understanding of different cultures would not have gone amiss.

That was wrong of course. I can remember fighting the school bully when I was a kid to defend a Lad with a german name. Sadly the inverse of this can happen in some inner city schools now.

I still cannot what the advantages mass immigration from a number of diverse countries has brought to these shores. OK, we have a lot of different restaurants selling international cuisine but we also have a large numbers of people that dont seem to want to integrate or adopt our way of life based on mutual respect for race, gender, law, individual choice on who we can marry or even socialise with. We managed to leave many of these primitive beliefs behind centuries ago and create a land that others around the world envied and wanted to come to so they could improve their lives, integrating and sharing the benefits of this lifestyle. We now seem to have people that want to come here but then change our culture to the ones they decided to leave behind.

And I didnt read this in the Daily Mail.

Those were people that did make the effort to integrate. Well, except for the Scots ;)

Kids will naturally get on with kids from any background/country/race or religion... right up to the time adults get involved to educate them!

The far right only gets heard when the 'centre' feels under threat... What's been happening in some Birmingham schools serves their platform very well...

They are also the cruelest to anyone slightly different at times as well! No different to any other members of the animal kingdom! All part of the survival instinct!

I guess by this comment you mean the rise of the far right across Europe is a bad thing. Maybe you should consider it is because people feel the left has failed them and impinged on their personal freedoms. This is what is emerging in this country and not only because of the left but also due to the way peoples culture has been pushed aside and replaced by multiculturalism and certain mono-cultures to which they never signed up to. What has happened in these schools is a typical example of this and a worrying trend for the future of the country IMO.
