Travel luggage

Hi, due to take a KLM flight soon and wondering how strict their baggage policy is.

Your hold bag can be a golf travel bag but is restricted to bag, clubs, one pair of shoes and balls.

However the weight allowance is 23 kgs and I wonder if I can squeeze anything in or if they actually check the contents ?

Nope, it's all about the weight, (or it has been on every flight I've ever taken) Only once was it opened.... at San Francisco a month after 9/11 - but they were possibly searching for something else.
