Transporting golf clubs

I can see where it could be useful if you plan a two-destination holiday, one golf, one not. There are still those buts:
your clubs (our babies) are out of our control for over a week - did they make it OK?? (panic)
I'd be looking for this to be a return deal, and if it's £80 odd each way

I can see a better business in club hire for more than one round (and more than just Callaway)

Good idea in theory, it would save boot space and lugging them about to and from the airport.

Would I pay an extra £40 for the pleasure? Maybe not but would a group of say 6-12 golfers who have to think about space? Maybe.

Colin, have you tried to link in with golf tour companies?

The OP asked the same question over on GolfMagic and was met with similar responses.

From a personal point of view I have never been unduly traumatised by putting my clubs in the boot and then getting them out again and wheeling them to check in, and whilst the cost of carriage is creeping up it is nowhere near the price being quoted here. Mine are going to Portugal and back for considerably less than the price Colin is quoting just to get them there.

I really can't see where I would be gaining much.

Hi Parmo,

Sorry for the delayed reply. I think you have hit the nail on the head. More consideration for space is definitely needed when dealing with several sets of clubs.

I haven't been in dialogue with any operators yet but this an area I am very keen to persue. It would be ideal to incorporate this service in to a 'VIP' package with the tour operators.

Thanks again Parmo

Col
