Finally got around to a trackman session, didn't realise i'd booked a test:mad: but hey it was an eye opener.

After a few warm up shots it give you three goes at each yardage, they all count, even the knifed wedge for my first shot :D

60-180 yds then 3 drives to finish

Soon realised with the cold and range balls , one more club was required for each distance but overall quite pleased with how it went.
Coach said i must be a **** putter as my irons were pretty good:D

It gave me a handicap of 7 :mmm: which is very flattering but we don't play on a range unfortunately.I was within 5 yds of every distance.

Even though the time was up we made a few minor changes to my driver setup and the results were instantly improved,

Looking forward to doing the same in summer and see where i am then

Anyone else tried this ?

Sounds like a good session and at least the pro didn't change too much and seems happy. Now to take the work off to the course. I enjoy the trackman sessions I have every now and then but did find I was getting bogged down by the numbers. It's a useful tool without question but I am trying to simplify and don't need it every time, especially where my game is at the moment

I did the same thing on my last lesson but 40-100 yds, when it was set to three goes at each yardage i ended with handicap 5 but when my coach changed it to different yardage every shot I end up with handicap 12. Overall great fun. Played today and short game was definitely lot better.

I've done this a few times and really enjoy it. The first time I was give a h'cap of 17, 2nd time I improved to 11. It's the ones around the 40yd mark I struggle with. My main aim for this year is to work more on the 100yd and in range so will be doing this test a lot more often.
