Afternoon all, been stuggling with my tempo recently - gone from hitting the ball the best I ever have 3 weeks ago to now not finding that same swing speed again.

I see Tour Tempo at £12 on amazon. Just after some advice to see if its a worth while aid?

I know Homer speaks highly of this - I am sure he will be along shortly....

Doesnt work then :)

You sir are a knob of the highest order!  :D :p

I do rate it. My pro downloaded the three tempos, 27/9, 24/8 and 21/7. The first is too slow really for me but is a good one if I really want to slow it down to almost slow motion (compared to my usualy blur). The 24/8 is the best one for me and really works and gets me to synch everything.

It is trial and error finding your ideal speed. The real challenge is to listen for the initial beep, note or whatever sound you've downloaded and not to pre-empt it or the one to start the downswing. It isn't as easy as it seems but definitely worth £12 as a trial

I've got this for my iPod. I used it for a while and started off with really great results. My problem my whole life with my golf swing has been that I can get too quick in my transition, leading to hips not clearing enough, hands flipping through, hooks etc.. and found that this helped slow me down and it was really eliminating my v bad shots.

After a while though I started noticing that while I had taken out a lot of the bad shots, I wasnt having many good ones either. I soon realised that while my tempo was better, it was kind of useless because I wasnt getting in the right positions in the swing. For example, you are meant to start the downswing when you feel like you are in the correct position at the top, but I realised that I wasnt feeling that position at all, and was just starting the downswing when I heard the beep!!

Basically I reckon it could be useful as a learning aid if you REALLY struggle with tempo, but can actually do more damage than good, and seems like a bit of a bandage fix as opposed to a proper way to change your swing.
