Last year i played in all conditionsl
This year ive decided not too play when the course is frozen.
I dont know how the Scottish boys survive without golf for
weeks on end.
How do you cope when theres no golf?
Its even too cold for the range.

If its seriously cold, which it is now.

I put the heaters on in the conservatory, open the big double doors and put my bit of astro down and chip balls at targets at the top of the garden.

Ash!!

never been a fairweather golfer, but it pains me to say yesturday was too cold. Snow on the ground, frost in teh air, teeing off mid day when its 2*/1* isnt fun. its a good job the company was good, otherwise id have been off at 9th.

Im now faced with the question regarding sundays game, weather states 0/1* with forcast snow.... its been a while since ive watched sunday tele.

There's not a week passed this winter when I haven't managed to play at least one round. Yesterday was the coldest conditions I've played in for quite a while though. -2 plus whatever the windchill took it down to and frozen greens. Bright and sunny though!

Our range is covered and some bays are more like little rooms (teaching areas which have 3 walls) that seems to keep you a little warmer but the problem I find is I finish work and cant wait to go... As soon as im there im too cold and want to get home so I end up rushing and don't get out of the trip what I need too.

I've a lesson tonight which I'm not really looking forward too given the sub zero forecast. Hopefully the secluded teaching bay will be warmer than the big open range. Laready decided to pull out of the stableford on Saturday as I can't see much benefit in trying to play a competitive round when you've no feeling or desire to be there. I'd rather hit a small bucket of balls after a lie in and work on the drills from tonights lesson. Seems far more practical use of my time. There is snow potentially forecast for late Saturday and Sunday anyway and it is suppose to be very cold Friday night so I can see the greens being on temps anyway

The only time i can't get a game is when there is snow on the ground. The last time i played it was -5 but sunny, Not serious golf just banter and a nice walk. Because of where I live and the reciprocal deals available I can get a game somewhere. My latitude is further north than Moscow I think, does have its benefits its still light at half five/six o’clock and the moment and in a month or so will be light till 8pm giving plenty of time for a quick round in the evening.

We just get happed up and get on with it :)

To be fair, I will play in anything other than snow... Cold and rain I can deal with I just hate frozen greens. I played a short course a couple of weekends ago and managed to make 4 out of the 9 greens from the tee only for the ball to skid a further 10 yrds - I could hear the sound of the ball landing... (Typical I would never hit the greens so well in better weather)

I was at the range for an hour and a half last night and by the end could not feel my toes or left hand.

Hit some decent balls though! Which was nice. A mate of mine was there for over an hour in just a t-shirt and tracksuit bottoms! Idiot!

Playing on Saturday morning at half 10. Forecast when I looked on Sunday was -5c...then Monday it went up to -4c. Looked last night and it's now supposed to be 0 to 3c with a small chance of snow/sleet!

Bleedin hell. You guys start late.

I'm off at 8am Saturday

I'll pretty much play in any conditions except when there is a covering of snow.

I'll pretty much practice in any conditions. I was up the range boxing day 2010 hitting balls out into the snow. Great fun.:clap::clap::clap:

They've just installed heaters in a few of the teaching bays at our place which takes the chill off a bit.

It always amazes me how much distance you loose when the range balls a frozen. With the wind in and frozen range balls I was probably only getting a nailed 7i about 140 yards at most. Usually that could be up to 180 for me.

The only thing that I hate is a thinned 4i in the cold. Ouch.
