Today I started to record stats during my round and here they are... The good and the BAD!!!

HCP 22 Golf Shake
The weather: Very Windy and a massive shower!!!

The course: Wet and very boggy in places

My final score was 89 with 5 Par's and 1 Birdie :-) one 8 and a pair of 7's :-(

GIR now this is the shocker... 2 yes 2!!!

1 Drop

Now it gets better :-)

0 Hazards which suprised me

Total putts 31

Basicly my drives where quite good for the whole round, my iron play was bad (Thins mainly) My pitching and chipping where very good (Best part of my game) and set up alot of 1 putts.

Should I ignore the GIR as my irons where bad compared to normal and the wind was sending aproaches all over the shop. Alot of aproaches where only yards off the green but I told myself NO cheating LOL and recorded them as a missed green.

Overall quite happy considering conditions and im tracking all of my stats from now on.

I track my HCP with the website GOLFSHAKE, I think its abit strict though as I can score 34+ points on a bad day, most people say id be off lower if I joined a club but want to get better first before I join anywhere.

how can there be any bad with 41 points?!

Because I know I can get in the low 80's without a couple of stupid shots. Like today the 8 I got was on a dogleg 500 YRD par 5 which I usually par or bogey, Today I sent my 2nd a 6 iron into the trees and well you know what happens next... a 8!!!

aye - but thats golf petal - you have to take the good with the bad!
hope you cut your own handicap! ;)

Id love to say im off 18 or under but Mr Golf Shake says different LOL

Im joining a club the start of next year so I hope it will be lowered then.

monthly medal today, strokeplay took 8 at the par 4 second ffs, played well after that got absolutely drenched on the 15-16th, double bogey-bogey finish for net 72

Hold on a minute. You say your handicap is 22 - Golf Shake or whatever - and you're appalled at hitting only 2 greens in regulation?

If you can manage 36 putts in a round, then, with a 22 handicap, you don't need to reach any green in regulation, and on 4 holes you have the luxury of only needing to reach them in 2 over regulation. As a retired statistician, I recommend that you treat golf stats with a modicum of common sense.

Aim high by all means, but be realistic.

I expect 5 greens at least and was yards off on 4 or 5 today, I was about 3 Yrds off two par 3's for GIR so id say its a realistic aim, but yes I do aim high - No point playing without ambition I think.
