Played with Smiffy, Welshjim and Smiffys mate Dave.

Very difficult conditions today with high swirling winds and very hard fast greens.

Overall winner was myself, pipping Smiffy 29 points to 28 today.

Personal highlight for me was birdieing the par4 1st after driving the green.

To those that have been before, I think a repeat isnt wise as the re-working on the back nine is starting to make the place look very, very shabby and unfortunately, I dont think there is an endless pit of money and it would seem that the fairways are being underwatered and neglected a little whilst the renovations are concentrated on.

It was a good day Jon, and well played mate. I three jerked the last green deliberately by the way, as I knew that we were level on points at the time and couldn't be arsed having to change up pound coins to share the money with you...
You're right about it being windy. Useful drive down one par 4 into the wind left me just under 150 to go and I nailed my 4 hybrid into the gale to finish pin high. Tough going.
There were some decent holes on the course, especially liked the 17th but as you say, some of the earth moving they are doing there almost makes the course unplayable in places. And bearing in mind the time of year, I thought the fairways were like concrete! Fast greens though, and fairly true. I'd like to go back and give it another crack when the course has settled down a bit more but please...........no wind!!
