i think utility irons could be my next addiction. already fawning over the 712u and callaway's new effort.

Perhaps not quite the same, but I have a G20 hybrid which to me is a lot like a long irons with a fat ass. Easy to launch.

i have always been tempted by one of those. i watched mark crossfields in the bag video the other day and he said it's his secret weapon. he loves it.

I find hitting it more like an iron in terms of setup and swing than a usual hybrid/fairway. Lot of offset which helps me and like I said, easy to launch. I game a 20' 3 iron equivalent, useful from the rough.

ive never really hit woods or hybrids in the traditional way ie. off the front foot. i am the same as yourself, i hit the 503 like an iron. i have the 22degree and im tempted to buy the 19degree and drop my mizuno 20 degree hybrid.

Alright Gary, I have a Mizuno Fli Hi forged 3i (21 degrees) if you want to give it a crack ? It's sat under my stairs and doesnt really get a look in these days.

Driving iron type clubs do look great but it'll take something special to get rid of my old Wilson Hybrid.

Not feeling the warmth. Think they look rubbish with the exception the Titleist but prefer the look and confidence I get from my hybrid. Perhaps familiarity breeds contempt
