My trusty Garmin S1 has served me well for several years, but the time has come for it to go.
The (non-replaceable) strap has now broken in two places, and recently it's started losing satellite connection in the middle of rounds just a bit too often.
My requirements are fairly simple:
The (non-replaceable) strap has now broken in two places, and recently it's started losing satellite connection in the middle of rounds just a bit too often.
My requirements are fairly simple:
- Must be a watch.
- Must have a replaceable strap.
- Must move on to the next hole automatically.
- Must be able to manually move from hole 18 to hole 1 (rather than having to go back all the way).
- Must have good GPS reception (the S1 seems a bit borderline at times).
- Would be nice to have worldwide courses (but I can cope with just UK and Europe).
- Don't need fancy screens and hazard distances - just front/middle/back will do.
- Don't mind having to recharge it after every round.
