Tiger Woods

Also coached Luke Donald from no.1 in the world down to wherever he ended up.

I worry for Justin Rose, he seems to be the only player Foley hasn't made worse in recent years. ;)

Coach that looks like a pillock who seems to make everyone worse. Ultra biomechanical and subscribes to stack and tilt type ideal. Rose is the only example of his where it has worked.

Wasn't he also Woods coach during 2012 and 2013 when Woods got back to winning multiple events ( think it was 8 including the Players ) as well as getting back to number one in the World ?

I put that down to Tiger just being Tiger and having a couple of seasons on a full schedule again.

So nothing to do with the person who was coaching him at the time then ?

He went two years winning nothing - under Foley in two years he won 8 times including two WGC.

So when Woods is struggling blame gets pointed towards Foley and when he won when Foley was coaching him it has nothing to do with the coach !

Just doesn't sound bitter at all

Foley was his coach during the two years he won nothing as well by that logic

Foley started working with Woods full time late 2010 , he was then out injured during the early part of 2011 , then won first last 2011, and then went onto to win 3 times in 2012 and 5 times in 2013

So by that logic as you say - once Woods got over the injury and the swing changes started working - under Sean Foley he won multiple times on the PGA tour.

So would be fair to say they had a successful partnership over a short period.

So it's another example of a successful golfer under Foley along with Rose and for a time Mahan

Until Woods body couldn't keep up with the demands Foley's tuition put upon it. Not ideally a glowing reference for his technique. And where is Mahan these days? Hardly sounds like an ideal methodology for a prolonged career

Tiger's body was already knackered, you can't blame Foley for that

Up to a point but surely this intense biomechanical change to his swing only exacerbated the problems. Had he not heaped so much additional toil on the body under Foley and gone to someone like Harmon (although I recognise that relationship was broken) who would have worked much more with what he had at that time, would Woods not have suffered so many more injuries going forward. It's conjecture of course (at least on my part) but an interesting point

Yep he had already had both serious back and knee issues before he went to Foley - spent a lot of time out through injury when with Haney. Expect he would have had the same issues which ever coach he went too

Sean Foley seems to be getting some unfair criticism in my opinion. He coaches Justin Rose and Hunter Mahan. With regards to Hunter he's dropped off the radar purely due to personal reasons, he's now got 2 young kids and is focusing on them.
