I know this will have a very dividing line of opinions, but I have to say it.....

Tiger Woods - Apart from his undoubted superb ability and mental strength/ill to win, I just dont think he's very likeable or even nice to watch.

Club throwing, miserable, petulant, arrogant, and characterless to listen to post round, he is hardly the most endearing of characters is he ?

*runs away*

I'm a big Tiger fan, and i agree with most of your post apart from the "not nice to watch" bit. When he is playing well he is a joy to watch as there is no finer golfer in the world than him.

He does need to get back the likeability factor he had about 8-9 years ago when he was tearing up courses all over the world and having fun doing so.

I dont think he's been the same person since his Dad died to be honest, i think that took something out of him the fact that his Dad used to go to 99% of events Tiger played in just to watch.

Totally respect his undoubted skill.

Wouldnt watch him at a tournament as I dont like him.

A miserable so and so, he should be more humble about the ways in which he is so blessed.

He may be the richest man in terms of talent, but in terms of class, he is bankrupt.

Look at Mickleson, thats the way it should be done.

Agree jon, its clear to all that Tiger just feels 'superior' to them all, and as if his successes over the years somehow make him more important.
His face when he's playing is so miserable, so petulant, as if he has some divine right to win all the time, so very glad he didnt.

I much prefer the 8mths we had without him to be honest. Truly.

The post round interviews say it all.
Woods never looked the guy in the eye, gave abrupt monosyllablic answers and looked like he couldn't wait to get away. It was downright rude.
On the other hand Mickelson engaged with the interviewer and gave some insight to his thoughts and his round and was polite as always.

I preferred it when he wasnt around also.

Who in their right mind would want to follow that sulking miserable face around all day?

Ok, lets hope he has an accident which forces him to never be able to play golf again, lets not have the best player in the world playing golf....at least some folk would be happy then.

He may not be media friendly, not with that Shane muppet from the BBC anyway, but to say you preferred it when the world No1 wasnt playing in the best tournaments is a bit sad really.

I am in this camp too, I cringe watching Tiger on secreen, so glad he is American, if he was European I would feel embarresed by his actions.

He hardly even acknowledges the galleries any more when they appluad him, such a miserable guy.

Leftie on the otherhand always playes with a smile, so glad he beat Tiger yesterday.

I wont deny though, that I love watching Tiger when he is playing good golf and for his talant and ability, its the only thing that makes the guy slightly bareable(sp)

Where does he get the lable of miserable and unpolite??!! :D

Not sure where folk have been watching him but as an ardent Tiger watcher I cant say I have ever seen him being either!

As for his game if he could drive the ball anywhere near top 20 in stats he would then be simply untouchable.

i have to say i agree with all of the posts

for someone who is so talented golf wise, why does it look like he is been forced round the golf course

I can see where people get it from Dodger, but i think these people are being a touch harsh on the great man.

Watch his interviews with the guy from NBC (i think) who is at most of the big golf events, his interviews with Tiger are good as he asks some decent questions. The guy from BBC, Shane, is nothing short of a mong and asks the sort of questions a schoolboy would ask, take his interview with Luke Donald yesterday when he stated to Luke regarding Rory "he'll be giving you a run for your money"....he already is you doyle, incase you hadnt noticed he's ranked higher in the world than Luke already!!!

Give Tiger a decent interviewer and he is ok, not the best in the world, but ok...ease up on the harsh comments though!

I find it hard to fathom how anyone can say anything negative about the guy do you remember what the game was like pre tiger - Yes he is focused and yes he is a winner so is not going to be happy when he does not play well - you show me anyone who is happy to lose and you will be showing me a looser.

What im arguing keef is that freddie basically says that golf was essentially an old farts game and a bit gash before tiger came along.

I am begging to differ using seve as an example.

Dont forget the likes of Fred Couples, Davis Love, Faldo, Els, etc who have also shown total excellence in golf, all were around before tigger.

exactley the point there were exiting golfers Arnie Lee trevio etc I loved Seve, idolised him growing up but golf did not have the place in the world it has now and that is due entirely to Tiger Woods just look what he has done to the pay checks of all the other golfers

The pay cheques thing is not good for golf - the desire to win has been dulled by the fact 10th place still collects a fortune.
