I noticed Tiger seems to be spending a little more time on the leaderboards recently, I wonder if this could be a good time to place a bet on him winning a major this year ? thoughts ?

what yet another comeback , dont waste your money , he will do good for 3 rounds then blow up like he did in european tour the other week , money would be better on Dustin Johnson , Nick Watney , Ricky Fowler of the yanks , KAYMER, Westwood Garcia AND THE RANK outsider , Thomas Bjorn , Rory is a dead cert to win one maybe 2 starting with the masters
yes, low odds though, he's favourit at the masters

Not exactly a 'value bet' but I hope he wins a Major this year - and the other 3 are won by McIlroy, Donald and Westwood.

i like the comment above about how he blew up in the 4th round @ abu dhabi...lmao!!!!!

hardly a blow up,he shoots a level par round with so many putts, yeah thats a blow up:rolleyes:

at this moment in his career and after all thats happened good solid tournaments is what he needs,he needs to justify his position in the rankings without people moaning every 2 minutes.i'm confident enough he is back on track but i don't see him being as good as he was before,he might do but i just don't see it.

what i do see though is him winning again and winning another major.if he is there or there abouts every week he plays then thats a good sign.

I'll happily wager with you that Rory doesn't win 2 majors this year!

I hope so, think it would be good for the game. That being said, it's frigging ridiculous that he was a massive favourite for the AT&T Pro Am this week at 4/1, second favourite was Dustin Johnson at 18/1!!!! That is somewhat of a joke in my opinion.

Bookies are rarely wrong and looking at the leaderboard they have got it right again !!!!!

I'm not a betting man but I doubt now is a good time to back Tiger unless you've got a big stake. I would imagine McIlroy, Westwood and Donald are better bets.

This is exactly the right answer.
He needs to show everyone, including himself, that he's capable of playing regularly at a decent level.
Getting "Match Fit" to coin a Footy phrase.....

If he can then he may well win again......

Good morning threeputt... Welcome to the forum...

I would never discount Tiger as he's still more than capable of winning any time he tee's up... Wouldn't bother with a bet though until the odds become a lot more realistic... Tiger is the Lester Piggott of golf... Bookie's are scared of what he could do to their profit line...

but surely thats the key - its just that single round that he's been missing recently and that will surely come because he has the winning mentality, to make those putts that others simply dont make, and like it or not the other guys still know he is capable of wiping the floor with them again. You really think the other guys you put forward are better than him ?
If you look outside of his faults outside of the game the guy is still the best player I've ever seen (imo), and I for one would love to see him win many more majors, the bookies must know something if hes favourite at the masters

If you look at his 'way back' with new swing and fitness, it was working for a few holes, then improved to nine holes, then to one round, then two and now it's three rounds. Pretty much back to where he can be, as it's super difficult to put four excellent rounds together.

As said above, Tiger needs to get match fit.

No major for Tiger this year. Like others have said, he needs tournaments under his belt to prove and improve his fitness and consistency. If he comes through this season pretty well, then IMO he'll probably be in a better position to challenge for majors next year.

Personally though, I have doubts whether he will win another major given the breadth of young talent competing every week, who also don't appear to be in fear of him.
