He wasn’t playing a full schedule before his latest mishap anyway was he?

Sounds like he’s just going to use his ticket for the Masters every year

Probably the right thing to do. If he puts less strain on his body he might even end up being more competitive!

Langer is doing it for years, and he still earns a good cheque every now and then. I wouldn’t be surprised if Tiger places well a few more times.

Woods announces he'll not play full time on the tour again but may choose a few events per year to play. Not surprised and given all he's put his body through and wonder does he really need to put himself through the rehab to get tournament ready even for a few times a year

Basically, this is what he's been doing for the last 12 years. I think it was only 2013 (?) when he played a fuller schedule.

Also, we need to recognise that he has an event to promote this week. You can't read too much into anything he predicts at the moment.

Granted but was that down to the fact he was usually recovering from surgery rather than a conscious decision? I thought he said he'd need to reduce the amount he played to give his back/knee time to recover between events. I agree he's used this week to issue the statement on the back of promoting the event but I think it was a decision that was coming since the accident.

Tiger was "done" years ago, he knew that but refused to deal with the reality, what this represents is his acceptance of the problem that's been with him for a long time.

Good on him, I don't think there's any shame in being an exhibition player. Who wouldn't love being able to have the luxury of a comfortable life and just picking and choosing an occasional event.

Can't argue too much. Depending on your point of view regarding being the GOAT then he has definitely earned the right to play as when he wants and the body allows. I think he'll play the Masters for certain, his own Hero event and then perhaps Jack's event. After that who knows? Once he reaches senior age, will he bother?

I doubt it - but if he does, it would only be to try to pass Bernard on that tour.

And that might be harder than trying to pass Jack on the regular one!

Be interesting to know just how many more £m he brings to the game/events just for turning up. There can only be a handful of sport stars in the last 10 years that have that presence

Best of luck to him. I still would like to see him teach these youngs boys a thing or two
