I remember reading an article about how he tests clubs and how as every club (even though same make and set up) is slightly different some will be more prone to go left to right or right to left etc he will only hit each one once, twice at most,after that you will subconsciously adapt your swing to how the ball comes of the club face.


Ye a saw a video of him doing a clinic where he pretty much did exactly what you have described. Very interesting.

Yes I found it fascinating especially given that the tolerances for tour issue equipment will be so much tighter. How often do you hear that I tried so and so's driver at a meet and was hitting it miles and straight so I bought the exact one and couldn't hit it, I guess when you hear that it's not so surprising.

I once heard that if you hit a driver well in a fitting then buy the one in your hand. No always possible but a fitter will make the club and have you come back and hit it again before taking it home.
