Tiger & Another Major

I think he will win another, maybe 2 but I doubt he'll win any more than that.
As has been said, he seems to put more pressure on himself to perform in the Majors and with every one that passes that pressure is going to build.
Too early to write him off this week but, and I didn't see it so I'm relying on reports, yesterday's round was nothing more than OK..

On a side issue, I remember a while back that many were scoffing at Lee and Luke being World Number 1 without a Major to their names.
Well, the current Number 1, although he's won 14 of them, doesn't either - as far as the World rankings are concerned......

World rankings and majors are different beasts. There are more major winners that have never been number 1 than the other way round. Anyone on tour can put together 4 good rounds and win a major, not everyone can perform at that level consistently to get to number 1.
 
I like how this thread was started after his poor round yday, I wonder what will happen if be goes out and shoots another 61 this Friday.....he couldn't, could he?

Given the course record is 64 which was set in something like 1957, 61 is unlikely.
 
Tiger is amazing. He has such an amazing mind, I'd love to have the chance to talk to him and watch him close up.

Tiger = awesome. Just imagine what he could do with a decent set of sticks in his bag! 30+ majors by now!

When Tiger was in his pomp the field were scared of him and he was the hunter as someone posted earlier. These days there is not stand out player dominating and players are no longer scared of Woods. He has become just another player in their minds. He does still have the mental resilience but I don't know if he has the technical ability and consistency. For the record I think he has been great for the game off golf (leaving aside off course antics) and the reason a lot of people got into the game in the late 90's and 00's in the same way Nicklaus/Palmer inspired the 60's and 70's generation and the likes of Seve inspired me. If Woods has a week like he's had on the regular tour and every clicks he will win another major. I still think he has too many wild shots that make it harder and harder for him but I reckon one more major. He won't beat Jack's record
 
And with every Major that passes that pressure increases.
Run-of-the-mill Tour events and the WGC's are not really what Tiger's interested in - yes he wants to win but it's the Majors that interest him.
 
:rofl: That will do for me. He can win all the week to week birdie fests on the PGA tour he likes for me but leave Jack's major record alone. Another year with no majors for Woods and long may it continue:thup:
 
I think the Tiger's screwed up mentally.
We've discussed Rory's body language on here, but I think Tiger's is actually worse. The slightest wee thing goes wrong and the petulance comes out.
He seems to have lost the appetite for a fight ( with the course, his rivals, and ultimately himself).

I watched Nicklaus from 18 years old at the Walker Cup to nearly 60 years old.
How old was he when he nearly last won the Masters.... 56?

When Jack was in his early 30's he slowed his swing down and played a much more conservative/safe/clever game.
I don't see Tiger doing this and until he does I can't see him winning a major. He is still trying to play like a 20 year old. He misses far too many fairways and as he gets older he will find his recovery skills instinct will let him down.
Can't see him being in contention for a major aged 56, can you?

He needs to learn to play with the same skill levels the women used at St Andrews last week. His new swing is much more suited to that kind of game.

Well just had a chance to have a check at the scoring as I have been rather busy today after a 36 hole event, good scores outh there but could not believe how far of the mark Tiger was. Any reason for him sitting so much over par, what part of his game was not on song.
