Tiger and metal spikes?

Not meaning to hijack but can any point me in the direction of an online site that sells stingers that will fit Footjoys. I have only seen them with screw fittings but believe that my Footjoys are all Fast twist.

I find that the soft spikes clog easily and are a bu66er to clean. I also dont like the fact that when you walk on the wooden bridges at out place you turn into a drunk Bambi.

Once my softies wear out its steelies for me.

well I'm currently wearing champ pro stinger spike cleats (cleats with a metal spike in the middle) I find on soft ground they grip better especially climbing up and down hills.

I would guess Tiger with old knee issues would want to make sure he doesn't slip.

I am with you on this Pedro, I put the stinger pro's on my Stuburts and love them.

Never had an issue with soft spike at all, Wouldnt consider Metals as I have no need for them.

Dont mind if they clog up, they grip just as well, and I always blast them with the compressor when I finish.

If you should ever visit one of the Altonwood Group (Ron Noades) courses e.g. Westerham, The Addington, Surrey National etc. you may see a sign that says that "soft spikes are worn at your own risk" or words to that effect.

Reason is that at one time, without consultation, he introduced a new policy of soft spikes only, initially I believe at Westerham. One long standing member who preferred metal spikes warned that if he should slip and injure himself because of wearing soft spikes, then he would sue because he was being forced against his better judgement to wear what he considered to be more dangerous spikes.

Needless to say he didn't remain a member for long but RN changed his policy and put the notices up to protect his backside - allegedly.

I couldn't help but notice Miguel Jimenez was also wearing metal spikes at the Masters. Couldn't help but think of his fat gut ruining those lubbly greens. They should be banned, they're so 1990's ;)

Not my experience unfortunately ... when I used to use black widows just ended up with 7 clumps of grass under my feet that took some raking out....
