I watched some of his third round at the last Open at Muirfield.
From a position where it was possible to win he totally lost the plot and was trying to overpower a course that needed a lot of skill to play. Hellish lucky to score an 81. He would have lost at least three balls if it had not been for the army of spotters.
If Muirfield is as tight as it normally is I can't see him adding to his majors total.

It will be, it's getting there now apparently.

Nothing new here - Tiger has been this way through his whole career. Streaky player, but when he's on it he pretty much dominates.

Missed the cut at Abu Dhabi
Won the next tournament the following week at Torrey Pines

T37 at the Honda
Won the next tournament the next week at WGC-Cadillac

Two examples this year, which bodes well for him for the US Open next week
