The course seems to be crucifying some really good players.

Wow.. Even I've been through the front 9 better than that. Think it just shows how wide a range of scores it's possible to get. If Tiger can be anywhere from -5 to +8 through 9, why do I get so irritated at going through in +14 (as I did today) when I know I can do it in +8.
Just chalk it up as one of this days, be happy I hit buffer, and be thankful that we get to enjoy ourselves playing this great game. As often said, even a bad day on the course is better than a good day in the office.

Surely he's entitled to a shocking round. He's one of the most concistent players I can think of. As previously stated, 4 wins out of 8 shows he's far from finished. Don't know what's going wrong this week for him though. I'd be happy to be "that bad" at golf though lol

I watched some of his third round at the last Open at Muirfield.
From a position where it was possible to win he totally lost the plot and was trying to overpower a course that needed a lot of skill to play. Hellish lucky to score an 81. He would have lost at least three balls if it had not been for the army of spotters.
If Muirfield is as tight as it normally is I can't see him adding to his majors total.
