Things That Gladden The Heart

Not for all of us!
Had my flu jab, too young for a covid jab and, remarkably, too young AND too old for a shingles jab!

I booked flu and covid jabs with the docs. At the surgery I was told I was too young for a covid jab.

The shingles thing is odd. I had mine only recently in my early 70s

This really should be an in annoyance thread because I could have had the flu jab at the chemist several weeks earlier ata better time of the day.

It was changed this winter to 75 and over

Not according the the NHS website that currently states, and I'm talking of right now;

It's available on the NHS for all adults turning 65, those aged 70 to 79 and those aged 18 and over with a severely weakened immune system.

I am simply going by what I was told at my GP surgery after booking a covid jab for mid October and being told I was too young with the age limit having been raised to 75 and I was not given a covid jab when I attended my appointment.

Currently sat in Caffè Nero at Bluewater and had to post this. We were in River island earlier and was a chap that was struggling to ask staff for what he wanted as he could only communicate using BSL, a young lass about 18 with her pals wandered over and intervened she acted as communicator between the chap and the shop staff herself looking like she was completely fluent and conversant in BSL. Couldn’t help but smile seeing how the guy completely relaxed and was able to have his requirements tended to she must’ve been with him about 15mins just helping and putting him at ease.

Really made me smile as was so nice to see the young girl help him and ignore the looks just to be a decent person. We need more of that in the world ❤️

Not if the beans were in a ramekin.
I jokingly said to my Mrs about 3 years ago when she made me a fry up that her trip advisor rating might improve if she served the beans in a ramekin.

The following day I was looking forward to a fry up when I sat at the table she had put corn flakes in a ramekin.

I keep my mouth shut at meal times now

No thank you.

Although not as bad as beans with fried eggs. It's something about the tomato sauce mingling with runny egg yolk that puts me off.
That's my 'go to' breakfast! Tip the beans out of the ramekin and the toast creates a barrier from the eggs. Sad though that my local garden centre cafe has swapped basic white bread for a slice of that sourdough stuff.
