Things That Gladden The Heart

Sorry for you loss Phil. 100% agree re your post. The NHS is a fantastic thing, and my experience was when we needed it, it was there. A world class service.
We had a young nurse on his last day looking after him when she knew he was fading she stayed after her shift to look after my mum - and then she wanted to be the one to wash him and get him ready

Just above and beyond

Our NHS

Just over 3 weeks ago my dad became ill after a trip to Scotland , he was sent into hospital and after multiple tests and scans we found out 12 days he had stage 4 pancreatic and liver cancer and after a short stay in hospital passed away peacefully last Thursday

The doctors were superb but the real hero’s are the nurses - they were just out of this world in the care and support they provided my dad and my family

Always treasure every minute with your family and never ever underestimate the NHS and its staff
We went through similar with my dad. I’m sorry to hear your sad news but pleased your family were able to be so well supported.

Thoughts and wishes to you all ❤️

I think something we should all visit, as a fly on the wall, is the nurse’s brew room, especially those on the critical care wards/units. On occasion, they weep buckets and then dry their eyes and go back out there.

Thinking of you and yours Phil. Tough times…

I’ll be honest in the past I have sat there and rolled my eyes when there has been a strike and they are looking for better pay etc but they deserve every penny they earn

Yesterday we popped up to deliver some tins of biscuits and sweets etc just to give something small - nephew is now currently trying to think of weird and wonderful ways to raise money for them

Really sorry to hear that news, Phil. It puts life, and what is really important, into stark perspective.

And I echo your comments regarding our wonderful NHS. They have been absolutely first class during my post retirement issues - I will take anyone berating them to task, always.

In London, came out of a theatre, turned down a side street and stood at the top of a set of steps was a fox 🦊. Big one, very healthy looking, just watching everyone walk past. Beautiful to see. I know they are meant to be common in cities but I've never seen one like that before

Just home from an off the cuff evening out. Mrs M book us tickets to go to Incognito cocktail bar in Windsor, what an experience you’d have no idea the place even exists just a little door sandwiched between some posh shops in Windsor with no signs or anything.

Step inside and it’s like travelling back to the 1920’s, all the cocktails are served with theatrics and props, the venue is just something to behold. I’ve drunk my weight in about a dozen different cocktails and Rums. Absolutely superb experience even if you don’t drink like Mrs M there’s drinks and fun to be had. Highly recommend it if you have one near you 👍

The Mrs has horses,we see them regularly in the field.
We have cctv in the field and get some good footage of them.
Get a 3 legged one regular.

Seen people posting videos feeding them, not good imo.

My wife once returned home at 10.30pm, walked down drive, stood outside with key in lock when she "felt a presence". Turned to find a fox sat a few feet away. It must have followed her wondering if it'd get fed.
She had time to get her phone and take a photo.
She didn't feed it.
(She offered it the spare room 😉)

Hobbit’s balti house started prepping this morning. The sauce was probably one of my better ones, and I flash fried the chicken before adding the sauce. As per usual there were a few added ingredients. Got the naans spot on too, which is a rarity for me.

Not sure about the diet 7-up. I forgot the Cobra beers… school boy mistake.
