Things That Gladden The Heart

Yes, a great win for us Canadians! And Gretzky's legacy took a hit when he sided with the US.
Envy you going to the Hockey HOF. Our daughter lived in TO for a couple years, not far from the HOF. I regret that I didn't go there when visiting her.
Gordie Howe fan here!

The Gordie Howe hat-trick is one of the great stats in sport. For those who don't know, it's a goal, an assist and a fight.
I have been appearing recently on the Scuttlepuck podcast which is hosted by two guys in Belleville. I am travelling there to meet up with them in person for the first time and go to a Belleville Sens game. It's going to be an epic trip as it involves three weeks in Tampa with a separate two-day excursion to Vegas. Will see NHL games in three different cities as well as covering two days of the Valspar PGA tour event in Tampa.

What about aftercare? Always found it good to be able to pop into Specsavers and they can sort it straight away - usually missing nose pad, lost contact lens or bent frame. Can't get that online

Work paid for a pair, get tested for free every two years as part of our benefits, so they're the good ones and I've got my cheap ones to keep in the cars, mine and hers. Didn't fancy shelling out just in case I forget them at home and I'm driving.

Oncologist meeting today confirmed that the results were good and better than anticipated. They think a large portion has been killed off by the chemotherapy and the rest is dormant. So it’s now immunotherapy every 3 weeks and hopefully that will get the dormant stuff and slow/stop anything that wants to be active.
It will take a few months for chemotherapy 6 to clear the system but we both see some light at the end of the tunnel.
My view has been if it can be controlled then it’s as good as gone, gone would be best, but the reality of that in this case is it will be ever present.
So now we are in planning mode and off for a weekend by the sea with my parents! Woolly hats and 99 ice creams!

Great news. Enjoy your weekend away.

I’ve just discovered the calculator app on my IPhone also converts mountains of stuff like miles to kilometres etc, can’t believe I’ve never noticed it before 🤦🏻🤣
Number of times I've said to my son 'i wish I could do xxx on my phone ' and he has shown me exactly how to do that very thing 🤣. And yes, he does do an eye roll 🤭.

I suspect we use about 5% of our phones capability, at most. So much that we don't know about is on them

Two nights ago, when the major planets were all supposedly visible to the eye, I downloaded a compass and, out on my drive, located Mars. It was a faint, pink twinkle compared to the brightness of the others. (I had a little moment of "wonder".)

Another common use for my phone is when I pause a programme and quickly research a location, actor, plot etc and then return to the programme.
("Oh. Its whatsisname, what was he in?" is common)
Similarly, with a book for phrases or expressions new to me.
They're amazing gadgets.

Mother in law had the girls last night

I was at work , wife went round her friends for dinner

Lovely lay in this morning, did the wife breakfast in bed, took her to see Bridget Jones and then built the eldest a chair that had arrived whilst we were out.

Such a relaxing morning before the kids come home

Only need a few hours to recharge 🤣

Had to smile at this, one word changed to that I am used to started the wrong train of thought.
