Brilliant.I was drafted in last minute on Tuesday evening to play for my dads darts team.
Only had a board since new years at home and thought I was doing alright so was happy to be a backup for him.
First ever singles darts match - won with a 90 checkout (T20, D15)
Played the doubles in the deciding leg (we were tied 3-3) and threw the winning dart for my dads team (D7)
Proper little moment of self pride for me and Dad was so happy. Really great moment.
What’s life without a bit of risk, especially if you’re doing something you loveLooks like I have secured a commercial workspace on a reasonable long term deal. Needs a significant amount of work to make it usable bit it has 3ph and water facilities which are the essentials, everything else can be built as required.
Its not massive but with a floor space of around 100m2 it will certainly be very workable and enough room for a small office/customer area.
Work will start towards the end of April and probably 6 months to complete.
Best part is that I have also secured some investment that will help me to kit it out properly as the only really industrial machine I have just now is the CNC.
Should coincide with the end of my current client contract. What could go wrong?
What sort of machinery does he have? What’s life without a bit of risk, especially if you’re doing something you love
Give us a shout if you’re needing any machinery, my old man is retiring in August and is selling the lot, all top of the range machinery![]()
Brilliant.
Not many sports you can play with your dad!
Finally the boot is on the other foot! We’ve had 5 days of rain, some of it torrential. There’s been a fair bit of flooding, subsidence and the odd landslide, all locally. The main st in the village has half a dozen very deep holes due to subsidence. Thank goodness we’re at the top of a hill.
Could he not part fund it with you. After all it will be a much better unit in the long term.Just nipped down to the unit to have a proper look in the daylight. It's going to be a challenge alright. But I think that it can work really well. What I didn't know was that there is a large 24m2 store room at the back that could be opened up with a RSJ to create a finish area (or a kiln if I can find the funds).
It has a wee bit of a damp smell but think the guttering on the back wall needs cleaned (or replaced) and it needs some insulation for every day use. The owner isn't really that fussed what I do with it as its sat empty for 3 years, previously was used for storing car parts, but I obviously don't want to spend too much time or money doing up someone else's unit.
Nah, he was quite happy with it sitting empty. He's in his late 60s and I don't think it's something he thinks about as a going concern. It was only a mutual friend that put me in touch with him otherwise it probably would have remained empty.Could he not part fund it with you. After all it will be a much better unit in the long term.

It's lovely here, 16° and bright sunshine this weekend. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!And now 7 days of rain and Storm Jana coming through over the weekend. Managed to get the Q/final of a comp played yesterday before the rain set in again last night.
