Things That Gladden The Heart

Going back to my old non-league team (Leatherhead) for the first time in over 30 years as a get-together for former players. Where I began my career as a journalist when still at school. Great memories and stories being told. Realising how old we all are now but many friendships renewed. Awesome day.
I love a reminiscing day. We meet up every 3 months in Farringdon to chew the fat and have a cider or 2.

On the other hand....
We meet about every 6 weeks, 4/5 who worked together over 15 years ago.
One of the group insists on keeping us up to date with "gossip" he's picked up on Facebook and Whatsapp about our past colleagues despite us no longer having any interest.
We occasionally reminisce over funny episodes but since he's joined us we find he is constantly trying to widen the net to as many past colleagues to join us.
Its meant to be a quiet pint and chat but he wants to recreate "the old days" - team meetings and socials.
We keep saying "Frozen" to him.

Oh he sounds like a right Karen.

Luckily our group are all on the same hymm sheet.

Chemotherapy 6 today, last was mid December and then an unsuccessful operation. But let’s be honest, unsuccessful only because the surgeon could not remove tumours without causing more problems. So in the end it was okay. My wife will do immunotherapy every 3 weeks so we will see, but the good news was the CA125 marker was still in decline and is now relatively low. So we will see what chemotherapy 6 does and the immunotherapy.. she is still fighting 🙂👊

Hopefully her fighting spirit will continue to see things improve ❤️

Spud Man! If you don't know him, google him, look him up on FB. A guy making a regular living and then smashing it via social media. Does various bits of good, also great marketing, whilst selling the humble jacket potato. It's a good story, and boy he is not mean with his fillings 😄

He was on the local news yesterday, the council have moved his pitch and want to replace it with a flowerbed. They've given him a different one but he thinks it'll cause problems. The queue must've been at least 50 people deep, the amount of money he must be bringing into the town centre, if I was on the council I'd be asking him where he wants and if I can do anything else for him.

Typical council decision. Business becomes a success, an asset to an area. How can they screw it up?. Absolute muppetry.

i was on rota for call out last night for the building. security didn't find anything so i had a look at the CCTV the morning. it was a Badger who fancied helping himself to the bird seed bins out the back. was out there at least an hour :ROFLMAO:

Mother in law had the girls last night

I was at work , wife went round her friends for dinner

Lovely lay in this morning, did the wife breakfast in bed, took her to see Bridget Jones and then built the eldest a chair that had arrived whilst we were out.

Such a relaxing morning before the kids come home

Only need a few hours to recharge 🤣

Incredible Four Nations ice hockey tournament that ended with the 51st state of the United States beating America in overtime much to Trump's disgust. Another trophy for me to look at when I am at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto in three weeks.

A couple of weeks ago my car insurance came in £48 below last year.
Checked and found most car insurances were down from last year by about 10%
Decided to stay with existing insurer.
Paid it today and it was down a further £26. (y)

Yes, a great win for us Canadians! And Gretzky's legacy took a hit when he sided with the US.
Envy you going to the Hockey HOF. Our daughter lived in TO for a couple years, not far from the HOF. I regret that I didn't go there when visiting her.
Gordie Howe fan here!
