Things That Gladden The Heart

Nephew no 1 getting married next Spring. Good lad, he'll be 30 next year and is rising briskly in Goldman Sachs. Lovely lass he's marrying, it's a smart do in Greenwich somewhere.

Our invitation is a WhatsApp Message!

I guess it's a sign of the times!😁😁😁

Should we buy and post a formal old school reply?😁 I could just WhatsApp back and say, "yeah, sweet!"

Mrs V saying to me, "You look fairly normal this morning."
After 6 of the 10 days of steroids there is a clear improvement.
The single brow raise capability has gone. Right brow goes up by about 75% of left, but this is not noticeable by a casual observer.
Right eye still does not blink, but there is a slight downwards twitch when the left one blinks.
I can also lower the brow, which I could not do 5 days ago.
So overall appearance is much less than the bug-eye cartoon character that was very odd to look at.
A little mobility has returned to right side of gob. Shovelling the breakfast in was far less messy this morning.

A vast improvement Mr Bond.

The NHS ... At back end of June, my dentist commented on a skin blemish and suggested it was "worth getting it checked out". So I did.

Since then, I've had a GP appointment, a dermatology appointment, a biopsy, a follow-up, and, finally, yesterday had ir surgically removed. All in less than 2 months. We may think the NHS is broken - but at least some of it still works. My hat comes off to everyone involved.

Our lad told us yesterday that he is DJing the Leeds Festival Silent Disco this coming Friday and Saturday nights, and that it’s from the main stage with 60,000 headsets brought in for each night of it - he is rather excited at the prospect of DJing for a huge crowd - he reckons maybe 40,000 but could more.

Now what was I doing for work when I was 31…? Oh yeah…🥱

What happens to the headsets afterwards? Are they re-used or just chucked? Genuine question, I'm not looking to throw water on the post.
