Things That Gladden The Heart

I’ve been on a 7 day holiday because of an off-colour remark about Charlie and Camilla and now I’m back the Coronation thread has closed. 🙄
So I’ll put this here…Funniest thing about yesterday’s proceedings for me was when the Archbishop of Canterbury had about 3 goes at Jamming the Crown on Charlie’s head! 😆😆😆 You could imagine the squeaking as he kept adjusting it.

Getting HIDs bookcase finished, bank holiday long weekend has given me enough time to get the last bits done.

Started life a month ago as 3 raw slabs of oak, which turned out to be a bit "rustic" and needed some minor epoxy resin work to seal up some major shakes, voids and extreme knots.

But happy with the end result. @SwingsitlikeHogan, this is what Osmo PolyX 3032 looks like on a finished piece. Quite subtle but does the job in highlighting the rustic grain patterns.

Perfect…👍

Have to say that the Coronation Concert yesterday evening was particularly splendid. The lighting, airborne effects and backdrop of Windsor Castle were magnificent - the acts themselves splendid and pitched just right.
Each to their own I suppose. I caught the the end of it and thought what I saw was a total cheese-fest. (The devil alone knows what's the attraction of a 'boy band' that's middle-aged?) Even the Royals seemed to be enjoying it rather less than the Royals are supposed to enjoy this stuff ...

I loved it - even the bits I didn't expect to. The Romeo and Juliet section was stunning. Knew I'd love Take That and did

Gladden the heart? A bus driver who stands his ground and refuses to allow someone on without them paying. The scrote wouldn't pay, verbally abused the driver then went upstairs. Driver simply announced over the tannoy 'you'd best come down - I'm not going anywhere till you pay or get off'. And didn't. A bit of an inconvenience to the rest of us passengers, but the scrote did eventually get off.

Hopefully he’s on CCTV and can be prosecuted in some way. Assuming it was a he.

Yep, was a he. This time. Have seen both (all?) sexes trying it.

We use the buses a lot, and sadly, see people regularly trying it on. And the driver usually gives in. Can understand why; what's the fare to them, and they don't want to be knifed, but it's no less annoying

Oh yes

Wednesday at 10.00, Tashyboy is having a three hour Bee keeping experience as one of his birthday pressies. It is at the side of Meadowhall. Fortunately Missis T can do what she wants for 3 hours whilst I get close to nature.

Didn’t realise there was any nature close to Meadowhall 😳

Life finds a way.
In less environmentally aware times I worked at a structural steel fabrication unit in Notts that used to be the NCB national workshops. At the back of the property was an area where waste that couldn't be recycled was dumped for years. Next to it was a small meadow with a ditch containing rare orchids and wildflowers.
