Things That Gladden The Heart

One of my very long term golfing mates is on the verge of giving up due to loss of reasonable eyesight.
He was 90 yesterday and as part of our swindle Christmas dinner there was also a birthday celebration for him. He is also going deaf so it took him a while to comprehend what had been going on around him before the meal ( a collection of money for the present - when he went to pay he was told he had already paid and the signing of a b/day card).

A client that has owed money since May has finally paid this morning.
It’s been a very long drawn out process and they have been very difficult to deal with.
Having paid they have also asked to do some work for them over Xmas, they then got very defensive when I agreed to as long as paid in advance.

So not only have we been finally paid I’m now the one who can call the shots on future work so it’s a double whammy for gladdening my heart this morning.

My 10 year old grandson is now too "cool" to believe in Santa.
They just moved to a new house a few weeks back.
On the way to school today, with my wife, he talked excitedly about Christmas then suddenly exclaimed "Hang on, has our new house got a chimney?"
🤣🎅

Arrived in Fuerteventura yesterday.
Got through passport control without any delay.
Arrived in baggage reclaim, our suitcase and golf clubs were already there.
Was in a taxi and on our way about 20 minutes after the plane touched down.
Must be some kind of record.
Enjoy the golf 😎

We have a new Tesco that opened nearby on Tuesday which makes shopping easier....and I can avoid Asda. The really really good thing....and I had put down a request in a local online news site when they were building it.....for car spaces that were actually big enough to use. Shazam......a big thumbs up to Tesco for making parking spaces big enough to use. I'm taking all of the credit.......

Works obligatory Christmas meal where the “grown ups serve the rest of us “. Planned on eating and doing a quick back door boogie to my room for early work tomorrow.

Ended up eating far to much, dodging Brussels sprouts flying during a food fight, Drinking my body weight in Baby Guinness and various other things and think I got fresh air snipered as I left the the bar as I feel absolutely rat arsed 🤣

Also won a £40 cash prize and a very expensive full Reindeer skin rug in the raffle. Overall a pretty decent evening ! Tomorrow will be fun though working with a hangover at -20°🤣
